I have been to countless museums and heritage displays around the country and this one beats them all. There is so much to see we couldn't do it all in the one day so will have to return someday. Each building is an attraction in it's own right and all the buildings are set in streets to form a whole historic town. I found this place by accident as we were driving past and as a tourist brochure collector I am surprised it isn't advertised more.

You will have to drive here but is worth the trip. You could easily do 2 seasons worth of episodes of an antiques or collectors TV show with all of the collections held here. These range from an old hospital surgery, gramophone shop, printing presses, ladies frock store, chemist, grocery store, an excellent pre war school house display and of course a wonderful collection of vintage cars. And many more!

My wife and I visited the village and were absolutely blown away by how well they have done it. Usually tourist stops along major routes are sort of slapped together but not this attraction.

They have spent some serious time and money making this a top notch visit. With very interesting and unique items on display. The printing press display was very interesting especially because the man who can operate them was there to go through everything.

Another very cool item was the fully restored early 1900s John Deere and Waterloo tractors.

The quality and professionalism of the attraction is second to none. I found the articles laid out in their historical place and order making it easier to understand and enjoy. The food in the pioneer display was excellent as was the staff attending it. All in all a must see for its enjoyment and entertainment of how our early pioneers managed in those tough and rugged times.

The Herberton Historical Village is a must visit for those interested in our Australian history. From the tractors, cars, wirelesses, sewing machines and many more items, there is heaps to see and learn about. The walking paths are easy to negotiate. There is also a tea house serving, Devonshire teas, cakes as well as yummy pies. Many enjoyable hours can be spent here.
