“great snorkelling”

The best snorkelling off the rocks is past the 1st turnoff, nice and sheltered from the prevailing winds...great fun!

“Beautiful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

Amazing work to protect this marine preserve. We stayed in Cabo Pulmo itself, took a great snorkeling tour on a boat with EcoAdventures, run by Juan and Javier Castro, and snorkeled from the nearby beach of Los Arbolitos several days as well. The boat tour takes you out to reefs further afield, for some beautiful experiences, so definitely worth it. The owners are very honest about weather conditions and will recommend waiting a day or two if visibility will not be good. I already wrote a long review of Eco Adventures under that heading so check it out! Owned by sons of fishing family that decided to protect the preserve originally.

Amazing desert scenery all around as well. Locals are working hard to protect this area from giant developments, such as the latest proposed by a Chinese company. We will definitely be going back for further explorations of both the marine life and the terrestrial life.

Nice places to eat too - Las Palapas Restaurant is right on beach - good food, friendly service, and views can't be beat! Ah yes, clean restrooms too! Owned by daughter of family that decided to protect the preserve.

“Cabo Pulmo snorkeling”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

Eco Adventures did a great job taking us around the reef. Owners Juan and Javier Castro where very friendly and professional. We arrived in the area in the afternoon when it was windy. Javier could have sold us a tour right then but he suggested we come back in the morning when visibility would be better. When we did snorkel the only problem we had was when my daughter was stung by a jelly fish. Javier was prepared with some vinegar to soothe the burn.

“great snorkel tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

Although the water was a bit cold and the current a little strong due to the wind, we had an excellent time snorkeling in Cabo Pulmo. Glad for the wetsuit!

“The scene at Cabo Pulmo”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

You get hustled to rent a ride to the Reef and beyond. Once you decide it's time to snorkel you will learn you must wear a life vest. The snorkeling is not any better than many places on the East Cape. After paying to see the reefs you will learn you could swim from the shore to maybe the best reef.
All of the sudden the boat operator decided to look for whales, though everyone on board wanted to snorkel. It was wasted time as the Whales were not there.
