Ideally located to explore West Cornwall, the B&B is run by 2 people perfect for the role; the hosts (Paul and Allison) are very welcoming and offer great insights into the local area and are full of good recommendations (without being pushy) of where to go for food and entertainment. The room we had (number 5) had excellent views, was very clean, cosy and had a comfy bed. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of hot options (full English, vegetarian, kipper, French toast etc) as well as fruits, cereal, yoghurt etc. Whilst at breakfast, the treatment was exceptional, refills on the tea/coffee, toasted saffron bread as well as normal. Knowing we were national trust members, Paul provided us with the national trust book with all the local sites pre-marked, whilst Allison provided excellent home cooked food from local ingredients.

If you do stay here and fancy an excellent meal, try Ben’s Cornish Kitchen (recommended to us by the hosts) which is a 1 minute walk away- we only got in on a cancellation off season, so booking is a recommended.

My wife and I would happily recommend St. Michael’s to our friends and we will almost certainly return at some point.

Dear Kevin and Danni, Thanks for giving us such a great review. We are thrilled that you had such a good time grateful that you brought the beautiful weather with you (it's still sunny here). We are pleased you enjoyed the breakfasts and in fact you were the first guests to experience our brand new kitchen. It was also good that you had a great meal at Bens Cornish Kitchen. We are very lucky to have the 'Best Restaurant in the West' on our doorstep. We hope you will be able to stay some time again in the future.
Warmest regards Paul & Alison

The owners Paul and Alison made an exception and opened their place for us to stay for 2 nights in Dec 2012. We felt very welcomed the minute we stepped into their place, and it felt like we were meeting up with close friends and staying with them. Their place was elegantly decorated with a contemporary touch, immaculate, and very well-maintained. Our family of 4 took two rooms on the 1st floor. The rooms were next to each other, which was a perfect arrangement. We had some rain during the two days in Cornwall, but that didn't dampen our mood and spirits. It was such a pleasure to meet the lovely hosts Paul and Alison. They took great efforts to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Alison cooked us a delicious breakfast and we loved it. I also like their collection of books which they left on the shelves in the lounge (and the bedrooms) for visitors to read. We would love to return someday.

Dear Lik Ling and CJ thanks for taking the time to write a lovely review of your stay with us at St Michael's. It was good to be able to accommodate you on the first floor whilst we we decorating rooms 5 and 6. We enjoyed our conversation reflecting on our Singaporean connections and are very pleased that you had such a good time, despite the winter weather. Thanks for the great photograph of St Michael's Mount and New Year greetings. We wish you all the best and you never know when or where our paths may cross again.
Warmest regards Paul & Alison.

We were looking forward to our three night break in Marazion on our three week drive and B & B journey from Manchester to Paris. With a hectic schedule behind and ahead of us, we needed to recharge and relax a bit. Little did we know that this B & B was such a great oasis for a weary traveller. On arrival, Paul met us in the parking lot and guided us to our "reserved" parking spot. It was reserved because we had a rental vehicle which was oversized for our needs and the roads we drove. Thats another story !
From that moment on , our stay at St. Michaels was akin to staying with long time friends. The tea and biscuits offered on arrival, the room overlooking Marazion and St . Michaels, the comfort of room and the location for walks made it ideal. With Paul's local advice and information we were able to see Cornwall areas that our pre-trip planning had missed. High wind, high tide and rain made for an interesting boat trip to St. Michaels on a Sunday morning. .....but who cares about the weather when you are having fun. Now, the breakfasts were superb with Alison creating a mouthwatering and delicious breakfast MEAL to start our day . Paul and Alison put a lot of effort in to making their guests feel welcome......and it works. We will return some day and have told our friends of our "discovery".
We cannot leave out the discussions that were held in the dining room !! Thanks Alison and Paul

Thanks Ron and Elaine for a wonderfully heartfelt review of your stay with us. The warmth of your kind comments also reflect the way we felt about having you stay with us. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your break and hearty breakfasts in Marazion so much. We are also pleased and honoured that we were able to be a stepping stone for your onward trip and adventure in France and very much enjoyed sharing memories with you both.
You and your friends will be most welcome in the future should you be able to come over from Canada again. Thanks also for the tips about Canadian trapper fur hats....

The owners kindly fitted us in for one night over a busy August Bank Holiday. We stayed in the 'cosy room' on the top floor, and were very happy. The room has an excellent en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was possible the best cooked breakfast I have ever had. The quality of the ingredients was clearly very high. The only downside is the parking. If you have a large car, you may have a hard time getting it parked, but don't let this stop you - the place is lovely

Thanks very much indeed for your 'excellent' review and for your glowing comments about the best ever breakfast. Glad we could fit you in for the one night - even if you found parking your car was a bit of a squeeze :-)
Hope you will be able to come and stay with us a little longer some time in the future. Warmest regards Paul & Alison.

We arrived at St Michael's after a long flight from Australia and a drive from Heathrow to be greeted by Paul. Our 2 night stay was excellent in every way. Paul and Alison are the perfect hosts. Alison cooks a delicious breakfast. Paul's local knowledge on what to visit was greatly appreciated. Ben' Cornish Kitchens is also a great place for evening meal.

Thank you so much to Paul and Alison - there isn't much more I can say that hasn't already been said - and yet it still needs saying! The property is beautifully presented, each room has it's own character and yet all of them are spotless. Room 3 had a beautiful view of the water over the rooftops from the front window and when I led in bed (which I had to climb into being only 5'3" - and it was a very tall bed lol!) I could see St Michael's Mount out of the side window - beautiful! Breakfast was vast and we didn't need to eat again until dinner time that evening so well worth it. Nothing is too much trouble - friendly and helpful, Paul and Alison would offer advice on places to visit, transport - I even heard Paul offer some girls without transport a lift :-) I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and will definitely recommend it to everyone I know whole-heartedly! Enjoy your break you two - and we will hopefully see you again!

Room Tip: All the rooms were lovely (we were the only visitors on Thursday night and the other rooms were left...

We spent two nights at St Michael's B&B and I would like to say a big huge thank you to Paul and Alison for the great hospitality.
The room where we stayed (the number 6 ) is very spacious ,clean ( spotless clean ,and I'm VERY fussy about the cleaning).I think that the room is with no doubt ,one of the best B&B rooms where we have ever been.
The breakfast is pure heaven with a lot of choices and attention to details .
Paul gave us a lot of information about places to visit and see and it was always ready to help all the guests.
Paul and Alison are very very attentive to details and I think that all of this make your stay in their B&B unforgettable .When we arrived we had a nice cup of coffee with a lovely cake and it was so much appreciated after a long driving .The B& B is in a fantastic location and the view from the room was beautiful, all the experience has been pure lush.
Friendly atmosphere I was sad to leave.
Thank you Paul,thank you Alison
