“A fantastic visit”
Reviewed 13 June 2014 via mobile

This was my second visit to the mount, but my first experience of the aquataxi across. The taxi boats are reasonably priced and it is definitely an experience to approach in this way.

The castle is really interesting; the children's quiz (with the chance to win a medal embossed with a picture of the mount) really got the children to engage and made it more enjoyable for the rest of the family as we weren't being rushed from room to room by bored children.

The views from the mount are astounding and if you have the time to spare it is amazing to watch the causeway slowly emerge as the tide recedes.

The shops are well stocked with unusual souvenirs and the national trust shop is particularly worthy of mention for the exceptional range of quality locally handmade items in stock - clearly supporting local artisans.

We made our way back via the causeway. A really unique day out.

“Unmissable Cornish Experience”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

We spent a wonderful day at St Michael's Mount. We parked at the car park and walked across the causeway at about 10am. This is an experience in itself. On arrival at the Mount we were advised that there was a 20-30 minute free "scene setting" guided tour at 11am. This tour, was unbeatable. The guide was a knowledgeable, and charming character who had worked on the island for 28 years. His anecdotes and detailed understanding of the history and workings of this fascinating place were so interesting and engaging and set the scene for a real value for money day out. The Mount is spectacularly beautiful and there is so much to see and do. The castle is crammed full of interesting artifacts and the gardens overlooking the atlantic are world class. By the time we left the tide was in so we jumped on one of the regular boat services back to terra firma. The crossing was choppy but expertly navigated by the boatsmen. A magical place and not to be missed if you are visiting Cornwall.

“Great day out”

Lovely place to walk around with amazing views. Dogs welcome also, but not in the castle. Nice walk across the causeway, but you can also take the boat at high tide.

“A great day”
Reviewed 11 June 2014 via mobile

We took the aquataxi out, great for the kids, and meandered up to the castle the staff were knowledgeable and were happy to communicate with visitors and young children. It is a very interesting place. The tide was out so we were able to walk back accross the causeway when we had finished.

The only thing I didn't like hearing as we were walking accross the front of the houses on the queue side, was a guy rasing his voice to his young daughter saying "close the door we don't want visitors walking in"...
My view on this mater is if you don't want to live in such a public place move to somewhere quieter.!

“Amazing”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

It was worth waiting for the tide to go out in order to walk across the causeway. I loved the whole experience. This visit was on my bucket list and it didn't disappoint. It is a very steep climb up to the 'castle' but well worth it. Full of history and cosy rooms and fine views across to the mainland. The garden was closed (Sunday) which was a shame as it looked very colourful from the ramparts of the 'castle'. The church was also worth a visit (part of the 'castle' tour). I would go again.
