We were very keen to visit St. Michael's Mount when planning our holiday and the place did not disappoint.
The castle is up a steep cobbled pathway and certainly comfortable footwear is needed but the walk up the mount is well worth it. The first thing is the beautiful views you get of the Cornish coastline and of the gardens below which unfortunately were not open on the day we visited.
Before you reach the castle walls there was a storyteller and lots of rugs where you get to hear about the giant of Marazion which was fun. Once inside the castle it operates a one-way flow for visitors which is good as the guide leaflet you are given gives you a brief outline of where you are standing. With each room there are laminated sheets with descriptions of the artifacts on show and there are some lovely oil paintings throughout.
Well worth a visit and found it was good value for money.
