Me and my partner visited on Monday. Although I'm nervous of heights, got to the top and was well worth it. Visited the gardens the next day and they were beautiful as well. Would recommend this to anyone

Visited mid-week in the morning on a glorious sunny day in June. We weren't the only ones with the same idea as the main car parks were full. However, we were able to park in an overflow for a not unreasonable £4 for the day. Even before we went to the castle, we had the bonus that HMS Queen Elizabeth, the aircraft carrier and the UK's largest ever Naval ship was anchored in Mount Bay. What a backdrop.

Tide was out for our visit so we walked to St Michael's Mount. Took the option of a joint ticket for both the gardens and the castle. So glad we did.

The gardens are nothing short of amazing; full blooms of indigenous and tropical plants adorning the cliff side. There are terrace paths to take you through. In the sunshine of a June day, they were spectacular. Cast a glance away from the cliff side and out to the ocean; a vista of turquoise sea.

The visit to the castle was interesting. Not a huge amount to see but bear in mind this is a lived-in castle. Take that into account, and imagine this is where you live and it takes it to another level.

Tide was in when we were leaving and that set the scene even more. To see it in isolation in full Summer sun. Shuttle boat service at £2 each takes passengers back to Marazion.

What a place.

Well preserved castle. Amazing views. On a nice summer day, it is the perfect day out. You can mix swimming with some light rock climbing and some sight seeing. We loved it. Also amazing to see how the landscape changes with the low and hide tide.

This is a fascinating structure that was initially a monastery, later a fortified castle and eventually a magnificent home that is still owned by the St Aubyn family in partnership with the National Trust.

It is a lovely walk on the causeway from Marazion to the castle during low-tide and a boat ride back if you linger on the island.

This has such an interesting history. Lovely vistas and fantasies about what it is/was like to live there and attend dinner parties.

OMG this place is out of this world and soooo beautiful. We had a fantastic day here both on the Mount and in Marazion itself. So very worth a visit if you can.
