“"Heaven" by the sea”

We have just returned from a fabulous fortnight at Cockleshell. It was everything e had hoped for and more.We were in need of a complete chill and there is no better place than here to do just that. The accommodation is first class, very tasteful, catering for your every need. The owners Sue and Simon go that extra mile and supply extra treats and surprises which make you feel spoilt and very special which is what everyone wants whilst on holiday. We were blessed with amazing weather throughout our stay and spent many hours on the patio with wonderful uninterrupted views out to sea and St Michaels Mount. The views from the upstairs lounge are awesome and we enjoyed sitting at the dining table, munching fish and chips, just gazing out.We were lucky enough to see a seal in the bay one evening and dolphins leaping one morning whilst having breakfast on the patio which was fantastic.
A truly blissful place to stay, very convenient for wandering into the town and strolling on the beach. One of our favourite things was to sit on the patio in the earl evening with our feet on the wall sipping wine before strolling into town for a meal!
We also loved meeting the very friendly and welcoming neighbours who had lots of stories to share with us about life living in Marazion with those amazing views.
We were very sad to leave so I think we may just have to go back!

Felt really blessed to have found this cosy cottage with incredible views. Cornish weather this trip was wonderful, and local people were so friendly, as was the local fish, beef and veg.

“A wonderful week!”

We were lucky with the weather and on arrival were welcomed with a meal and wine awaiting us along with some other treats which was very thoughtful. The cottage is enchanting it has every comfort you could wish for and the views are amazing! We saw the castle lit up on one evening totally magical and even better I didn't have to move off the sofa to see it ! In fact I spent many hours taking in the ever changing scene, it was great to see the causeway appearing every morning. Also great we could bring our dog who enjoyed the many beach walks.
Marazion is a lovely village and we didn't feel the need to venture out too much. Most of the time we spent relaxing at the cottage which is the best holiday let I have ever stayed in. My birthday was the last day of the holiday and Sue the owner delivered a birthday cake and a cream tea which was a lovely surprise. We are missing this special place already and can't wait to return in july.

“Little piece of Heaven”

We have just returned from a magical week long Honeymoon at Cockleshell Cottage.
The attention to detail shown by the owners, as well as all the extra little touches and surprises throughout the week, have made it a truely unforgettable holiday.
As a rule we are not very good at "relaxing" but with such a comfortable cottage, and views like something from a fairy tale, it was impossible not to be 100% chilled out!
Since reluctantly coming home we have been telling all our friends and family about the little peice of heaven we found at Cockleshell. Sadly our descriptions cannot do it justice though so we have told them all that they simply must visit and experience it for themselves!

“Romantic cottage with idyllic view”

A hidden gem of a cottage, with a magnificent view from the landscape windows upstairs - and from the private terrace downstairs. A real 'hideyhole' - enabling you to escape the bustle of town, while having amenities on your doorstep. Wonderful to step out of the front door and be a few metres from the sea (the cottage is built right on the sea wall in Marazion). We loved hearing the waves.

A great many surprise treats: lovely toiletries in the bathroom, a very tasty first-night dinner, cream tea (dropped over by lovely owner on last day), wine, biscuits and choccies.

The cottage is well kitted out - with dishwasher, super TV, I-pod, laundry facilities, large fridge/freezer and very modern bathroom with underfloor heating. A real pleasure to stay here and we will be returning.

Tastefully decorated, with a light and airy atmosphere, it's my ideal place to stay.

Only downside is not being able to park nearby. We had a permit for car park within 5 mins walk, which is fine when the sun is shining: not so good in wind and rain.

Thank you for your review of Cockleshell. We are pleased you enjoyed your holiday. Because Marazion is an ancient market town, private parking is quite rare and although the car park is a few minutes walk away, being able to drive down to within 80 feet of the front door to unload etc is still very beneficial. We hope you will return again, in the future.

“Comfortable luxury and dog friendly! :)”

We stayed here for Valentine's week 2014 with our two Collies, Fly and Meg, after a lengthy search online for a luxurious, dog friendly place to stay. Cockleshell Cottage ticked all our boxes and more! The little extras were a great touch and made our stay amazing...we had the best view of the 3 storms which hit us during our stay too! Totally awesome! :) If i had any slight comment it would be that there was no full length mirror in the property, and no mirror at all in the bedroom, which impacted on me when attempting to style my hair on Valentine's evening, when we braved the hurricane outside to battle our way to Ben's Cornish Kitchen...an amazing restaurant with delicious food, well worth a visit! All in all, we will be booking again :) Outstanding!

“Carols & Candlelight”

We walked down the little walkway and the little cottage was glowing, as we opened the front door we were welcomed by christmas carols and a wave of warmth. I loved this little cottage from this point on.

Practicalities - two course meal and bottle of wine on arrival. Brilliant, no need to think about where we're going to eat.
The whole cottage is equipped with everything you need for your stay, from toiletries to books & games and everything you could ever want in the kitchen to washing machine and dryer. All you have to do is unpack and relax.

We had dogs with us so the beaches were a massive bonus. Up early to get them out in morning and then a good walk when the tide was out. The dogs were tired by the end of the day and we could relax and watch the sun set over St Michael's Mount.

Everything you read about this little cottage is true and more. We truly had a magical week over Christmas and hardly even switched the telly on :-)
