“A very clean and comfortable cottage”

Home from home at a very reasonable price. The owners, who live next door are most welcoming and keen to make sure everything is in order. The cottage is in a nice location but I feel that a car is essential. The garden is lovely, surrounded by the countryside and good views. Everything was very clean and comfortable. A thoroughly enjoyable stay - just too short.

“Ideal base to explore cornwall”

Situated in quiet countryside location, with just the owners as neighbours. Great base to explore cornwall. Well pleased with accommodation and assistance from the owners who have a friendly collie dog, and sometimes their horse is in the field to the rear of the property.

“Home from home. A peaceful holiday hideaway at its best.”
Reviewed 7 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

For the past few years hubby and I have holidayed in cottages around the Penzance area. We've been lucky to stay in some lovely accommodation, however The Cottage has topped the lot. Situated in rural Trescowe The Cottage is half of the old chapel, lovingly renovated by owners Keith and Mandy (who live in the other half), keeping original features including bare stone walls and wooden lintels. The interior of the cottage is exceptionally clean, fresh and comfortable with all mod cons, while outside is a private well maintained garden with furniture to use on sunny days. The views are wonderful with farmland in all directions. The Cottage (the kitchen in particular) is extremely well provisioned, with careful thought having gone into providing all the comforts and necessities of home; all we needed to add was food and drink. The bedrooms are light and airy and I particularly liked the freshness of the beds, including the pillows, duvets and linen; I'm never keen on that feeling of sleeping in someone else's bed, which I certainly didn't experience at The Cottage.

Mandy and Keith are marvellous hosts. For the booking process we communicated with Mandy who was prompt and professional in all her replies, but more importantly, she was warm, friendly and thoughtful, and seemed as excited as we were that we would be coming to stay. On arrival Mandy met us with a traditional Cornish cream tea including hot, freshly baked scones. We chatted about the kind of things we were planning to do while on holiday and Mandy gave us lots of ideas and useful information. It was clear that she wanted us to enjoy our holiday as much as possible, and that we could call on her and Keith if we needed anything further. They then left us to our own devices and The Cottage quickly began to feel like our own home from home.

The location of The Cottage is deceiving. Being surrounded by fields and narrow country lanes, it can feel a little like being in the middle of nowhere, which we love as it's so pretty and so quiet. However, there is ample parking for two cars, and five minutes careful driving up or down the lane quickly leads to one of the main routes, making it easy and convenient to visit the lovely beaches, villages, towns and attractions in the area, and get to large supermarkets for provisions. All that's required is a little confidence, care and consideration on the little country roads, to be able to take advantage of this peaceful holiday hideaway.

“Very nice cottage”

We enjoyed the stay in the cottage. Good accommodation for 4 adults and the rooms (including kitchen and living room) are big enough to feel comfortable. The garden is great and large and the cottage has everything you would need during an extended stay.
The owners live next door and are very helpful.

“very comfortable accomodation within easy reach of St.Ives, LandsEnd and Lizard peninsulas.”

I travelled with my Husband and 2 teenage daughters. The cottage was surprisingly spacious. The photographs make it look tiny but it has large rooms and high ceilings and there is pleanty of room for 4 adults. The kitchen is very well equipped. I cooked most nights and everything I needed was to hand. We had a takeaway from the local chinese restaurant which was excellent and very quick. I would highly recommend it. The bathroom is excellent WITH A GOOD SHOWER and lots of hot water and lots of soft towels. The garden is wonderful. Very private with a lovely outlook, tables, chairs and sunloungers. St Ives, and the Lands End and Lizard peninsulas are all within very easy reach. St Michaels Mount is Fantastic and nearby Porth Leven is very picturesque and has the best fish and chip shop in the world! also a number of cafes and restaurants, a great beach and great crabbing! Mandy the owner lives next door and was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this holiday cottage. Dont let the reviews about dogs put you off. (My Husband was a bit worried) There was no trace of dog. No hair . No smell. Nothing, just a fantastic, idyllic cottage.
