We ate here on the last night of our Devon holiday. What a pretty and atmospheric pub ! There was a little beer festival going on in the gardens which only added to the atmosphere as there were a lot of locals in the pub too. The menu was not huge but there was plenty of choice to suit us all. I started with crumbed and fried camembert served with a locally made chutney, went on to delicious large Crevettes in garlic butter with salad and fries ( yum ) and finished with Salcombe ice cream. This was accompanied by a cold bottle of Prosecco, Lovely. The service was spot on . Everything done with a smile and efficiently despite it being busy both at the bar and at the tables. A duo were singing and playing guitars adding to the atmosphere. We had a really enjoyable evening.....

Clean, comfortable, large bed, towels changed every day, cannot fault the place, lovely atmosphere, good choice for breakfast, would recommend. The food in the restaurant in the evening was very good, friendly service, would go back.

Room Tip: Room 4 was large although above the bar but not a problem.

Popped in for a late lunch on Saturday. We arrived too late to order hot food but could order sandwiches or ploughman's. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh with wonderful bread and tasty fillings. The pub is nice and cosy and has a really nice feel about it. Staff were very friendly and we had excellent service. We will be returning again.

We ate at the Cott Inn last night, a belated 90th birthday celebration for my Devonian aunt.

We only had a main course but would love to return for a full-on meal-and-stay experience.

The place oozes history and charm, enhanced by the friendly & efficient service and outstanding food.

The gnocchi was better than any I have enjoyed in Italy!

Highly recommended.

My wife and I thought that we knew the area well until we stumbled upon this picture postcard thatched wonder of a pub. Surely the longest pub in the country? The welcome was warm and friendly, the service was swift and the chunky fish & the perfect chips were the best we have ever
had anywhere in the country. My wife always maintains that you can judge a pub by the cleanliness of their toilets. The Cott Inn scores a worthy 10/10. When you reach Dartington do keep your eyes peeled for the low level signs pointing the way to this hidden gem. Enjoy the outdoor area if you can. If the weather isn't playing ball, then cosy up in the historic and characterful interior and have a chat with the charming landlord. We can't wait to go back!

The Cott Inn is the perfect picture postcard thatched Devon Inn. Our room was well equipped and cosy and the food in the restaurant was tasty and served by efficient and friendly staff. Music night on Sunday was professional, unintrusive and in keeping with the pubs atmosphere. Breakfast was also excellent with a good choice of dishes. A very pleasant 2 night stay.
