“Small is Beautiful”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

This little Museum is a Gem, tucked away in Pontypool with friendly knowledgeable staff.
They now have lauched the Vintage Tearoom which yes... is small but very atmospheric!
The Museum is well planned and is user friendly.. there is always something of interest going on
also the Gallery hosts a wide cross section of exhibiting artists.
Look out for the section on Japanware which Pontypool was famous for !
Well worth a visit ! recommended....

“Interesting Museum”
Reviewed 13 August 2013

This interesting museum is full of the life of Pontypool, if I had a criticism, it is very dominated by the 19th century mining and iron foundries, rather than earlier periods, possibly because few artifacts have been found from Roman and Celtic eras. There is a little bookshop and a pleasant little coffee shop as well, and it is well worth a visit.

“Not much to do”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

I visited the mueseum last year and it was ok, but it could do with more rooms - but they have improved the variety of exhibitions from the last time I visited. It is also free which is a bonus!

“But then, I'm biased!”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

Really wanted to examine some old very local maps, but the volunteer staff for the library only come in two days a week. There's a dinosaur exhibit for the summer holidays,a display of art and fabrics by the widow of the local MP Leo Abse and videos, photographs and artefacts from Pontypool's significant industrial past. £2 for us oldies to get in, friendly helpful staff
