Sampi Nature is a magical place located on the shore of a quiet lake. My husband and I stayed for two nights in one of Lennard's tipis and it was very cozy. Lennart is a kind and gracious host and went out of his way to make sure we had a great stay. He is Sami and we learned a lot about his culture while enjoying dinner. We ate all our meals there and let me tell you, he is a fantastic cook! We got to try local specialties such as reindeer, trout, arctic char and smoked ptarmigan. There are also vegetarian choices. The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful with no other houses around. It is as if you have the lake to yourself! We went cross country skiing over the lake and into the nearby forest. Later Lennart made us a lovely lunch of reindeer sausage, steaks and potatoes outside on the grill. We saw many reindeer while we were there along with ptarmigan and red fox tracks in the snow. That night Lennart got the sauna going and it was a wonderful treat after a day of activities. The sauna has two large windows that face the lake. You couldn't beat the view or the privacy. If you are looking for an authentic and cultural experience in nature this is the place to go!

Went on a family holiday to Sampi Nature just after Xmas. Was simply amazing. Lennart is a one man legend- from warm Sami style tents( was easy -20 at night) to a sauna, to great food- moose hunted by him and even creme brûlée ( was able to show us the moose calls as well!) to skiing on the lake, seeing his brother Kennarts reindeer herd and telling us all about the Sami way of life. Glam ping in the Antarctic. Never to be forgotten . Highly recommended

Lennart is a fantastic host, showing us around on ski, foot and snowshoe on this outstanding piece of nature. The camp is sustainable, thoughtful to its surroundings, completely remote and the frozen lake in winter is just stunning. Combine that with a steaming sauna and a swim in the snow! Lennart knows the area like the inside of his pockets and tells tales about his heritage and Sami culture. This is a unique and authentic experience, and our family would love to come back one day!

First things first: If you love unspoiled nature, this is the place to go! The beauty of this place is just amazing - breathtaking.

We spent two days at the camp and are very happy that we didn’t settle for one night only as this gave us a chance to not only explore the area around the camp (by foot, ski and snowshoes), but also have plenty of time to relax and not least talk to Lennart, the owner, who taught us a lot about Sami culture.

During our stay, we tasted different kinds of Sami inspired food (moose, reindeer, lingonberry and rhubarb) - inside as well as outside. We also managed to take a closer look at the surrounding area and simply enjoy the peace and quiet (including some relaxing sauna time).

The saying goes that a place is only as good as the people in it. That said, Lennart is a great guy; friendly, forthcoming and easy to talk to... We have nothing but good things to say about Sapmi Nature Camp and can only recommend it. We for sure would love to go again some time.

This is one of the most unique experiences I had had so far in Sweden! There is never enough time but we should really take the time and wonder of in the forest or follow the moss that goes straight into the water! It’s not wilderness as the Sami people has been here for thousands of years but if you live in New York it surely is Wild and so very serene!! The Tepees are very spacious and well appointed with a24hrs fire burning to keep the temperature in a pleasant 72/73F. You get digital detox weather you want it or not as the charging stations are in the common area and not in your tent - skip the phone while here, you will thank me for doing it. Lennart, the owner is the best and most hospitable host you can imagine! This should be on everybody’s bucket list!
