The Vallee de Cogne is accessible by bus from Aosta, which one can get to by train from Turin. (Italian buses are very clean, comfortable and prompt.) Hotel Vallee de Cogne is among other hotels in the village of Cogne, most of them more expensive. However, our stay there was an excellent. We paid 100 euros per night and included breakfast. The staff was very cordial and the breakfast was very good since Italians really don't go in for breakfast like the Americans or the English. There were many choices of fresh pastries, yogurts, fresh fruits and expresso coffees upon request! We had a corner room on the 2nd floor. Our views out each window was spectacular. This village is small, but ever-so-beautiful. It's a little gem. For those that want to experience the Alps, it was a wonderful choice.
