This hotel is sited near the end of a beautiful drive along a long valley south of the Aosta Valley. The town is small and definiitely walkable. The hotel could not be better sited--on the edge of the large meadow looking toward a glacier, and rimmed by mountains. It's absolutely beautiful.
This is a luxurious place. Stunning views, excellent service, decorations fitting to the locale and folk heritage, a terrific kitchen. Our first visit was two to three years ago, and just remains perfect.
The setting begs for walking or other sports-oriented activity, although the spa might provide enough to do for those wanting to be pampered, eat and gaze at really fabulous views. (We haven't made it to the spa yet--too many things to do in Cogne/Aosta valleys.)
The one drawback is--if you visit in May, when we do, some of the restaurants in town are closed since this is between their high winter and summer seasons.
But for us, it doesn't matter. The hotel, view, and ibex/chamois sightings keep us coming back.

The Hotel Bellevue is one of the nicest hotels in which we've ever stayed. Ask for room 404 and you'll have everything you've ever dreamed of in one room: Dry/steam Sauna, shower, Jacuzzi Tub, fireplace, balcony with great view, computer or writing desk with benches, couch, huge double and a single bed, mini bar, frig. double sink, etc. etc.

Italian perfection : service quality, decoration, food (une * Michelin) and discretion.
We spent an unforgettable moment there : walking in the moutains, swimming pool, massages, dinner every night in the * Michelin restaurant.
I visited the "cave à fromages" and could not resist testing each of them every evening !!!
I tested both a room in the hotel (2nd floor) and a little "chalet".
Tea time every day at 5 PM in a quite living room with a fire place and classical music.
I am afraid my future journeys in ski resorts will not stand the comparison. But I'll try :o)

The Hotel Bellevue combines elegance and warmth and a spectacular view of the Gran Paradiso Valley It's rooms-- filled with museum quality alpine antiques-- are extremely comfortable. The staff is superb. Although not all the staff members speak fluent English, (they do all speak French and Italian and some English), we had no trouble. The managers, who speak English, bent over backwards to help us with cross country skiing (in some of the most beautiful ski du fond areas I've ever seen). The waiters and other staff were extremely kind to our son, a finicky eater. The naturalist on staff took our son on an incredible hike to see Ibex and Chamois. There are views, animals, art, and antiques here unlike anywhere else. The food is fantastic. Even if it takes you a bit more time to get there, it's well worth the trip.

From the friendly wellcome from Laura and her parents, we thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bellevue.

The highlights of this Hotel are the superb views up the valley towards the Gran Paradis peaks, and the antique alpine furnishings throughout.

Although at the side of the road to Valnontay and near the centre of the village, we found our rooms to be quiet. The road is only busy at week ends.

The restaurant is excellent ( Risotto with snails- superb !!) , highest quality- delightfully presented and attentive service. Extensive wine list - use the knowledge of the wine waiter for a suitable local 'Val D'Aosta' wine.

The Spa was pleasant and the gardens well maintained with sun loungers and a hammock (however there was no shade in the gardens).

Overall a good choice - expensive but fair value.

The hotel's lovely buildings are split by a road, that amazingly, given the location, is busy for 12 hrs a day. Trucks, motorbikes, cars, those three wheeler vans that sound like upset wasps. Round the town they go, up and down to Valnontey...unless you get a room that overlooks the valley, you will listen to them all.
It ruins the ambience, a real shame as the spot is beautiful, the rooms good and the food very nice.
Go to Restaurant Valnontey for great food, incredible value.

The pool was fantastic and had an incredible view.
The hotel wanted to be chique but would do much better if they'd change to familyhotel.
