“Alpine lunch in a rainy day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

This restaurant belongs to the local 5 star hotel Bellevue and it's just on main street inthe pretty village of Cogne. We were the first to arrive for lunch in a rainy day of July. Dining room has a very nice decoration with boiserie and lots of antique tools. Staff was very welcoming as well as the maitre. Menu offers a very interesting prtoposal of typical local traditional cuisine as well as wine list shows best wines valdotainne. Very tasty starter with local trout and main course frecacha - mixed beef meat with potatoes, onions and bacon served in an hot pan - were well prepared and well combined with a local chardonnay. The famous dessert "crema di Cogne with tegole" was disappointing: too liquid and nearly tasteless. A negative note for the bread, which was ordinary breakfast rolls served warm after microwave.
All in all a typical alpine lunch in a relaxed ambience.

“Last year was much better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2014

I went for a family lunch in January during the Christmas hols.
Service quick and elegant.
Unfortunately the food wasn't as good as last year during the same period, but quite average and the portions smaller.
Not as pricey as last year though.

“Good food you can afford”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2013

Owned by the the Hotel Bellevue and in the village, this is an alpine bar/restaurant with the best choice and quality of food in the village itself. The Bellevue itself is more formal (we never ate there) but this is affordable for all.

We had a great meal here. We arrived with no reservation and were seated straight away, by friendly helpful staff. The food quality was excellent.
