We booked this hotel as most in the area are all inclusive and we didn't want that. also this was the best value hotel we could find with reasonable reviews. the reviews we have read prior to going were accurate. The hotel used to be very busy and popular until a large all inclusive opened next door! the hotel is very clean, the pool area is excellent and the staff are very professional and extremely friendly. The rooms are perfectly adequate - normal for a Greek hotel! everything worked, shower, air con etc. our room was cleaned to a very high standard every day, with clean sheets and towels. the food is reasonably priced and good quality. Lots of rooms have a sea view. You can hear the odd plane, but it isn't too bad and certainly won't keep you awake at night. the hotel is quite quiet at night so great if you don't want loud music etc playing into the night, but not so great if you want some nightlife. It was perfect for us as we like to travel around, but if you don't hire a car you will struggle as the hotel is a little of the main tourist route. the hotel is rebranding itself as a sports/windsurfing hotel because of its location. I honestly feel a little sorry for the staff as they work so hard and do all the right things, but the hotel hasn't found its 'place' yet. Good value hotel if you want somewhere clean, quite and fantastic value.

The outside of the hotel is very cozy and well taken care of. It's a rather small 3 floor hotel, with a very nice pool area, away from the main street. There was always enough room by the pool. Just a few minutes walk to the beach. A bottle of wine for honeymooners was waiting upon arrival. Staff always nice and cheery. Beware that conditioning costs extra 6 EUR/day. No safe boxes in the room, all of them in reception area, for an extra fee.
Breakfast was ok, but during our stay of one week, almost every day there was the same assortment: something made form eggs (fired, boiled eggs, omelets, ect.), yoghurt, honey, some ingredients for sandwiches, feta cheese, tomatoes, olives, several sorts of cereal, cofee/tea, refreshments (choice of apple/orange juice, water). The juice was made from powder, very disgusting, had to stick with water. Only one type of fruit every day, most days it was water melon (one day it was even sour). Then there were grapes one day and a melon on the other. Buns for the coffee. It was better to come in as early as possible to have all the choice, cos later on the supplements came with big breaks or didn't come at all.
Rooms are a worse story. They definitely needed refurbishing, beds are rather hard. Bathroom was the worst - really tired, old, extremely small shower corner, not enough space for even an average size visitor, cannot imagine a chubby one in there. The shower curtains were too short, so there was water all over the bathroom after every shower. Water pressure was low, especially in the mornings. No really HOT water, just warm. Sound isolation in the room was really poor. Also, for the people with sensitive sleep habits beware that the hotel is just a couple kilometers from the airport and under the take-off path for many airplanes, some of them fly even in the middle of the night. The room was cleaned and towels were changed every day. The sheets weren't changed during the week, and the new towels had stains.
Room had a small fridge with we found really handy. No internet connection in the room, just a free extremely slow wi-fi around reception area (like everywhere else in the island).
The town itself was really empty, almost every second bar/dining place was closed, only few of them had more than three tables filled. We found "Billy's" a nice place to have dinner in, not too empty and with a extensive menu for both food and drinks.
Would advice to have a rented car if you live in this hotel / this area, though it seems that public transport was rather convenient.
All in all, it was a nice stay, but we never had big standards for hotels, a more picky visitors may find themselves disappointed.

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are quieter.

First of all I must say that the Sabina is a fantastic hotel, it is probably the best package holiday style hotel we have stayed in. Our room had a lovely sea view that was lovely to sit on in the evenings. It had a little fridge which was a god send as it was so hot every day. Our room was cleaned everyday with clean sheets and towels. I can’t remember this level of service in a room of this price range.

The staff are lovely, Gina, Maria and the gentleman that covered the night shift were all very helpful. Chris the bar man is a character and is always busy!

The food was very good, perhaps our only complaint would be the lack of variety at Breakfast, however there was always something different for the evening meal. There was plenty of salad, bread and a desert most nights.

The pool and pool area are spotless and there are always sunbeds available. The bar area is clean and well run with plenty of choice. We had some noisy neighbours who may have been better to stay in a busier resort like Faliraki but we mentioned it to reception and they sorted out the problem straight away and it didn't really happen again.

It was my husbands’ birthday while we were there and Gina organised a cake for us to surprise him with. The cake was lovely and she was insistent that she did not want to be paid for it. It was little touches like this that made the hotel stand out above others we have stayed in.

Sadly the resort of Theologos isn’t up to much. The general consensus between local business owners is that since a couple of the larger hotels went all inclusive, it has killed the town. Don’t get me wrong there were some bars and shops but it just had the feeling of a bit of a ghost town. We found though that the locals tried that little bit harder to make us happy so we ended up falling in love with the area because we had such a good time.

There is a cheap local bus into to Rhodes town that is very handy. I think it was about £2.50 each. We had a meal while we were there, there was a noticeable price hike though from our resort though.

There is also the little Theologos village if you turn right at the main road then first left. It is a little bit of a walk up the hill but it is a beautiful Greek village that is a mist see.

All in all it was a fantastic holiday, the Sabina is highly recommended.

We booked last minute half board the room were basic but very clean. The only member of staff that seemed friendly was Chris the barman and he was the only one who seemed to
do any work doing the bar, lunches as well as the evening meal he is a real character!!! The breakfast was below average
but there was cereal, fruit, crossiants bread etc and extremely watered down coffee from
a machine . The evening meals well we only ate there
twice as there was limited choice and it seemed to be the same every day. We tended to eat out in either Mikes Bar or Billys both of which were excellent with a varied menu and all the
staff very welcoming. The pool in the Sabina is fantastic and we were able to get a sunbed everyday. The hotel is situated in a side road of the main road and if your looking
for a lively hotel with evening entertainment then this is not for you. Theologos its self
is also very quite but that was fine for us your can get the bus into Rhodes which takes
about 40 minutes. All in all for the price we paid it was good value for money but i would
recommend only going for bed and breakfast.
