“Nice place to relax. Needs some renovations though”

Stayed her for two nights. We had 6 families in differents suites. The kids liked the pools and ocean. There's not much around to do other than beach and pool stuff, so if you go, expect to chill out. You can do a little reef dive directly from the beach, which was pricey ($80 for one tank dive without equipment) and an hour late starting. Skip it and dive the Guanica wall nearby, which is one of the best in PR. Food in the restaurant was good. Drinks were over-priced: $4 for a Medalla (small can)..really? The rooms are a good size, clean and have safes. But ours was looking in serious need of a refresh. Our back door could not close properly, the AC sounded on it's last gasp and the bathroom fixtures very old (with a toilet that didn't refill without manual correction). Service at the restaurant was friendly but very slow, even for PR standards. Overall good but feels like it's deteriorating.

I have never been to Hawaii but from the pictures I have seen this place looked just like that.
The grounds were lovely and well kept. The beach was beautiful. The sunsets amazing. Our
room was very nice. The atmosphere was conducive to relaxation. My friend and I noticed that
the staff made an effort to be quiet and unobtrusive but friendly. We stayed for 2 nights on the 20 and 21 on January. The food was great so we did not look for any nearby restaurants. We went to Gulligan's Island which was fun and unique. The price for the room etc. was very reasonable.
We found that January is not the high season because the water in the ocean and pools is a bit cool. In this resort we spent some time in the hot tub which was very relaxing. I kept saying to my friend that I find it hard to believe this resort is making money. The room price was so reasonable and there were so many staffers working on the grounds and in the restaurant etc. I couldn't understand how the resort did it. I was happy to benefit in any case.

30-something couple stayed here 3 nights in Jan. 2014, enjoyed it very much. Nice pools, nice beach (with lots of hammocks!), calm water for swimming and salt-water activities. Highlight was sea kayaking to Guilligan's Island, and exploring the different channels. Also did the paddle boarding demo and got free lessons. Guys in surf shack were full of good tips. Food was good, especially the homemade ice cream, but also close to towns of La Parguera and Boqueron for good dinners. Rooms a bit dated, but if you're spending lots of time in your room you're not doing things right -- we had a comfortable night's sleep in Building 5. Thinking of bringing family here because it looked like a good place for kids with calm bay, shallow pools, and playgrounds. Recommended.

It was a least disappointing hotel in Puerto Rico – which simply mean that this was the only hotel in Puerto Rico, which was exactly as expected after seeing webpage and reading reviews. Also, it was decent value for money.
The resort is located in dry forest reserve, so unlike northern Puerto Rico (windy and rainy) the weather there is guaranteed. The beach is very picturesque. The hotel beach is too shallow to swim, but the swimeable beach is just a few steps further – it is not a problem at all. Unfortunately, the water is quite messy and there are jellyfish.
The view from the rooms and restaurant is simply beautiful. Best rooms are 202-210 and above them (the hotel has two floors), worst 120-121 (no view). Upper rooms have balcony.
There are 3 swimming pools, the one close to the reception is the busiest, but the one, which is located behind the diving shop is almost empty.
There is live music at evening, sometimes really good (music to listen, not to dance) and the open-air cinema for children (but we enjoyed it, too)
We thought we would love this place, in spite of old and noisy (VERY noisy) air-condition in the rooms and in spite of fact that rooms are a little tired.
But unfortunately, we lost a few things there, among them my camera – it was stolen from the restaurant. Also, if anything flows down the balcony due to the wind, simply say good-bye to this – it happened to us, too, our blouse disappeared within minutes and definitely was not blown to the sea. We also find hard to believe my old camera and brand new swimming blouse were taken by other guests. And this we did not like, this simply should not happen in a resort like that – we had an impression that in the moment we turned our heads our things were disappearing.
There is a lot activities around – you can hike in Guanica biosphere reserve, travel to distant beaches, go to Ponce (but do not do it on Friday, as you will have to endure traffic yam on a highway).
If you do shopping in a local shop in Guanica, be aware that the police is hunting for tourist there, punishing them for parking on a pavement – penalty 150 dolars. THERE IS NO PAVEMENT at all, so it is hard to tell.
The hotel offers a free ferry to Giligan Island for those who would like to swim and snorkel in clear water, departing every hour (must be booked in the reception though). The diving shop offers diving trips, paddleboards, kayaks etc.
If not the theft, I would give 4 stars to this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms 202-210 and rooms above them have best view. It is better to take groundfloor rooms. Avoid 120...

We spent three nights at Copamarina and loved it -- it is exactly as presented, a laid-back, simple resort directly on the Caribbean; one-story design fits perfectly into the setting, comfortable beach with chaise lounges and shade available, nothing to do except relax. Best swimming beach is a quick five minute walk down the shoreline; spectacular series of secluded beaches in the state park area just a 10 minute drive further down the coast: both big-surf and calm swimming beaches, most of the time we were alone those beaches. We brought along our own chairs and umbrella (from a Home Depot on Route 2 en route to the beaches) but there was generous shade under the trees lining the park beaches as well. The gourmet restaurant is only open a couple of weekend nights, but we ate at the casual beachfront restaurant and loved every meal.

Drove to this resort from San Juan to go Scuba diving. My Girlfreind is an experience diver and I was trying for my first time. While out to sea we got to see 5 manatees and i did the doscovery/ dive. It was awesome! Capt. Franklin Rivera & his crew ( Edward & T) were fantastic. Great exeprience and very beautiful hotel. Secluded and tuck away, with beautiful views and ocean access. If you want to escape from society for a while and have a fantastic water experince ( scuba, snorkeling, kayaking, canoe) this is the place. I higly recommend Capt Franklin & his crew. My GF has over 150 dives and she loved this place, going to head back once i am certified to do the wall dive.

We stumbled on this resort a few years ago while on a driving trip around PR. We planned to stay only one night and move on to the next place. The next morning at breakfast, which was wonderful, we decided to stay there the rest of our trip. We have great rooms (2 clean and spacious), great meals, and wonderful adventures from here. We visited Gilligan's Island and the Bioluminous Bay. We had a great time and plan to take another couple with us in February. San Juan was OK for one night with the casino and the Old Town, but that can be done in a day. We are headed back to Copamarina!

Room Tip: We had ground floor rooms.
