I had really good time in this hotel. The building is beautiful and most importantly staff is super friendly. We also enjoyed really good dinner there. Top quality. The breakfast was ok, but example bacon was quite burned etc. So a little focus to breakfast in the future. Also the rooms need a modernization. Showers are aweful.

The building is beautiful, but the inside is in desperate need of some renovation. This could be so much better with a bit of redecorating. The room was small but functional, unfortuneatly also kind of dirty. Dust and spiderweb on the furniture, and as the top madrass came a little out of place we saw ALOT of dust on the bed. Disgusting! The corridor outside our room smelled like all the steam from the restaurant downstairs came out directly in it.

Breakfast is very good and check in/out quick.

This is our second visit to this cozy hotel, and we will stay here at our next visit in Haparanda too.
We like the building very well, it is large and old. The furniture in our room was somewhat outdated, but we had what we needed there. A big plus for us is that there is a bathroom with tub. Coffee and tea facilities in the room was of good variety. The room was clean and large.

We got parking the whole weekend, it was no problem.
The hotel is very centrally located, close to both IKEA and Rajalla mall.
Good selection at breakfast buffet and a good restaurant. A tip is to try the steak, delicious!

Stayed here for one night in September 2011, and chose the place due to great reviews here on TripAdvisor. The hotel is located in a beautiful century-old building in the center of this relatively quiet little town - we hardly saw any people anywhere during the (mostly dark) hours we were there. The room was spacious, nice and clean, with tv and bathroom. The pillows were too big for my taste, so my sleep wasn't that good, but that's up to preferences. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. All in all, a nice hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for one night while we shoped at Ikea. The room itself was very clean and comfortable just dated and old. There was no mini bar or fridge to keep anything cold. There is no air conditioning so I would never stay in the summer. We opened the window but then we got all the smoke smell from the outside eating area., along with all the noise from the parking lot and the road. The resteraunt was great but prepare to wait. The food however was worth it. Breakfast was very nice and comfortable. Over all I would stay there again as long as it was in the winter. Parking is very limited so once you find a spot keep it otherwise who knows where you will get to pay to park.

We travelled to Haparanda to shop at IKEA. We ordered a deluxe room, with a jacuzzi. We had a really nice first evening in our room, the jacuzzi was nice, and the staff had provided us with a bottle of sparkling wine and fresh fruit. The room was big and clean, with bathrobes and slippers. Big and comfortable beds. The buliding is 100 years old, so the style of the hotel is not very up to date, maybe a redecoration would be in place?
The breakfast was wonderful, EVERYTHING you may desire....and more :)

On the second day the lock to our room was broekn. we had to wait for a long time for the generator to get there. Insted of repairing the lock, they moved us to another room, without jacuzzi, and no discount. Was not very happy with the way the staff choosed to handle this. The rooms was very cold, we had to ask for a extra heater. A bit expensive , considered the standard of the rooms.

The restaurant was very nice, really good food and sevice.

We had a nice room, without airconditioning. In the heat with the windows open we had the noise from the carpark. The staff in the restaurant were terrible. We didn't eat there. The tourist office staff was very good. Front desk staff were good. This wasn't worth the money.
