We stayed in this place for few nights at midsummer. We had a very relaxing stay. Lady of the house, Tuula welcomed us to her home which has 25+ rooms. The interiors are typical finnish functionalism coupled with quirky decorations. Each room were decorated differently and were different in size and price. Largest rooms had beds for five so a family could stay together. We stayed in a peaceful double room upstairs and we had our own bathroom and a kitchenette. Some of the cheaper rooms didn’t have their own bathroom though. The place is very peaceful, the beautiful garden had a few sitting areas here and there and even a bbq area. We really enjoyed sitting by the beautiful river and we even made an open fire there at midnight. They said that the river was great for fishing some Arctic fish and it was possible to rent canoes from somewhere nearby.
The indoor spaces also include different areas for relaxation, chatting and reading, in case the weather was not so good. The lady of the house cooked us amazing foods and was even able to cook everything vegan.
We also enjoyed the sauna.
This place was opened recently and is going through changes but it’s already now lovely. Thank you Tuula! Maybe we will return to watch northern lights in winter.
P.S. some of my pics attached are taken around midnight! You totally lose track of time there!More
