Castle hotel is set on the hill overlooking Bishops castle and offers great views of the surrounding country side, especially when sipping ice cold white wine on the , private,
Our room was situated at the top of the hotel and was spacious and comfortable with all the requisites a guest could possibly need . En suite of course. Its small window also offered views across the town to the hills of Shropshire. As far as I am aware the hotel has no lift but the stairs are wide and stately, assistance with luggage is on hand if required. All staff were very helpful at all times.
Breakfast, freshly cooked, consisted of anything the guest requests and was superb.
We also had evening meals at the hotel and were offered a wide range of dishes. What we had was delicious and the other offerings looked excellent. Our steak was cooked perfectly but I would have to say it was some what pricey.
Shropshire offers many choices of walk to the rambler from strenuous hill walks to gentler strolls through forests. Walkers welcome every where.
