A group of 16 went to the carvery after a walk. We went early evening mid week the carvery it wasn't a particulary good carvery maybe the food had been sitting too long. Each dish had a very similar bland taste. We also ordered coffee which never arrived and the staff were standing about with nothing to do as there was only one other table of 2 people eating. I personally would not return or recommend

I recently stayed at the Park Hotel with my daughter and grandaughter. I had visited the Park Hotel on previous occasions and pleased to see that it still looked good. The room was excellent, clean and well furnished. The staff were friendly. One problem though - the key failed to lock the room door. When we mentioned this to receptionist she merely said she felt the other people on our landing looked trustworthy! We slept with a chair up against the door. Why didnt she try to help us with the key or offer to change our room. Shame, otherwise a lovely stay.

Room Tip: check the door locks

we stayed for one night in a suite which was grubby,it looked as though everything needed cleaning.but the bedding was very clean.
i must say the food at the hotel is very good.but the night we stayed they had a wedding there which was not a problem, but in the morning when we went down for breakfast they had not cleaned up all the mess from the party, in my mind they could not be bothered and just left it.
they had set the tables for breakfast over all the mess.
the staff were very polite and made us welcome.

As other reviewers have said the outside of the hotel is rather unprepossessing but inside it's a traditional hotel with fixtures and fittings in good condition.

All the staff are friendly and welcoming.

My room was at the side of the hotel with a partial sea view. Compared to chain hotels the room was very spacious with high ceilings and some original plaster work.

The bed was very comfortable. There are 2 armchairs so you can watch TV etc without having to lie on the bed. There is a large and spacious wardrobe, a desk and bedside tables. The lamps on the bedside tables have dim energy saving bulbs that are difficult to use for reading.

The hotel was quiet and I had a good nights sleep.

Breakfast was included in the price. I did not have the cooked option. Cereal/toast etc was fine. Butter rather than margarine is always a good sign!

Niggles:
- The room was incredibly hot even with the radiator switched off. Opening the window solved the problem at night when the exterior temperature was 4 degrees. How you would sleep on a hot summer's night in the room I'm not sure.
- The hot water pressure from the shower was very poor.

I will be travelling to Redcar again on business and I will definitely stay here again.

The hotel doesn't look great from the outside, but once inside it looks a lot better.

The car park at the rear of the hotel is VERY useful as, in my opinion, parking is at a premium in Redcar. The room, No 14, was very nice. A lovely view of the sea and a REALLY comfy bed.

Breakfast was very nice in the morning - and the complimentary newspaper (ordered the night before) was a nice touch.

The wallpaper on the third flight of steps could do with a bit of touching up but I'm being a pit picky there. The other half thought the shower wasn't powerful enough, but I didn't have a problem with it. Would definitely go back if I was in that area.

Room Tip: A room on the front of the hotel.
