Tastefully renovated to a high end spec. Hosts are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, Room was immaculately clean and very comfortable bed, Breakfast was good quality food with a very wide selection catering for all tastes.
After staying in a few guesthouses in Redcar i will not be looking for anywhere other than the Armada Guest House

Room Tip: I stayed in a small double room No 7, was compact but had en suite, tea & coffee, hairdryer and...

We were welcomed by Gill who was very friendly and happy, I felt like I had known her for ages, gill took us around the guesthouse which is beautifully decorated, attention to detail is spot on, lots of lovely little touches, the dining room is huge, clean, and again everything matches lovely.
Gill then took us up to our room which was a family room, it was clean tidy, very comfortable. We slept like logs. Tea,coffee, biscuits hot chocolate all provided.
Gill provided us with a parking permit so we could park with no worries right outside the guesthouse, no need to take the car as the town is in walking distance, just along the front so double bonus.
Breakfast was to die for, you help yourself to cereals, fruit, juices, Gill and staff all serve cooked breakfast which was very clean with a smile, nothing was a problem, if you wanted it you got it.
Well done to everyone.

A comfortable room, everything lovely, very clean and uncluttered. The proprietors are friendly and welcoming without being obtrusive, and were happy to deal with my various requests and queries. A lovely dining room served a breakfast any hotel would be proud of. The Armada is less than a minute's walk from the sea, and drifting off to sleep to the soothing sound of the tide's ebb and flow brought back happy memories of my childhood in Redcar. I shall definitely return - many thanks to all concerned for a lovely break!

Room Tip: The single en-suite room was extremely good value.

I don't normally do reviews but following a 3 night stay at the "Armada Guesthouse" I felt I had too as I have never stayed in such a lovely, welcoming hotel.
From arrival Gill was so friendly and made such a fuss of our 5 year old son who was travelling with us that I think he would have been quite happy to stay with her!!!
The building itself is beautiful and has been renovated to such a high standard and is spotlessly clean throughout. Our room was on the top floor which gave great views over Redcar itself.
The relaxed homely atmosphere was second to none and within a few hours we felt like we had been there for days. As we had torrential rain on the first night we took refuge in the dining area where Gill and a few guests had done the same and we enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine and a chat (You don't find this sort of friendliness in bigger hotels).
The breakfasts were amazing with very high quality produce being used, once again Gill was happy to accommodate our son with whatever he wanted and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.
I cant recommend this hotel enough and having stopped in bigger and more expensive places I would choose this hotel every time, it really was like home from home and made such a friendly place by Gill & John, if you are planning a trip to Redcar you really have to try this place its a real gem. Thanks so much Gill, John and Tracy we will definitely be back !

My wife and I came across the "Armada" at the Redcar tourist office. The house is two houses turned into one building, and is very well decorated and furnished.
Gill, the joint owner greeted us on arrival, and is a very friendly and welcoming person.
Our room was on suite and very comfortable and very clean.Breakfast was wonderful, very nicely cooked and a lot of it, John,Gills husband assisted with the breakfast.
Parking on the road requires a permit which is available from Gill.
I would certainly stay there again.
