The museum is free. The displays are changed regularly and the staff are helpful. There is free parking too. Interesting info, photos and exhibits about local life and other artifacts in the many rooms on different floors. There are toilets and a children's playground and picnic area on site too. Worth a visit.

we go to this museum lots, it is free and they normally have some trail for the kids to follow, lots of hands on stuff for the children, I love the display of old toys. play area is great too and area to have lunch and the lifeboat is sometimes open to look round, during the holidays there are craft workshops which are usually free.

“Fab place”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

This museum is a great place to visit whether your young or old : ). The exhibits are always well presented , and staff are friendly .
The gifts shop has some nice things you can buy which are reasonable.
We really enjoyed the Invasion exhibit with various masks and clothing from films such as Star Wars and Predator :)
And the cafe has a nice range of dishes and light bites.
Also has a small play area for children.
