“Brilliant for kids of all ages”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2013

This is a superb place to visit for adults and children of all ages. It's a cheap entrance fee for which you get to see many birds, meerkats, rabbits and guinea pigs and reindeer. There is a flying display each afternoon and a feeding the meerkats session. This is followed by an animal education session where you get to hold many animals such as rats, tortoises, snakes etc, handle insects like hissing cockroaches and tarantulas and meet the baby owls. The delight on the faces of children and adults when they get to hold these creatures is amazing. The centre have very informed staff who are happy to answer your questions. I can't recommend the place enough. Please go and visit as every penny helps maintain and protect many species of bird and animals.

“Quick visit, but enough to see and do”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2013

We stopped here to meet a friend at the cafe, and decided to visit the owl centre with two young kids. They LOVED it!

It's a short walk for an adult, but the young ones just want to stop at every owl and have a look. Sometimes they also have baby owls in the visitor centre, just stood on the floor. Children (and adults!) are encouraged to stroke them gently, and our 11-month old had a full conversation with one!

Bees/wasps were around though, so were advised not to go near the seated area within the centre.
