Wow what a cottage. Beautifully done, all tiled throughout with underfloor heating. Fully equiped kitchen. A very thoughtful welcoming basket upon arrival & some logs for the fire. Owners were so lovely. Made sure we could work heating, fire etc before leaving us to enjoy the house. Will be back again.

“Perfect Cottage, exceptional hosts”
Reviewed 2 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Friend booked this place for a weekend, and its in the countryside. When we arrived Barbara was there to welcome us to this recently renovated cottage, with two bedrooms, 1 double bedroom with en suite, 1 twin room and a good sized bathroom. The sitting room is so cosy you wouldn't want to leave. Great log fire, cosy couches and lazy boy couches, and the kitchen is very well equipped. My friend backed and cooked enjoying the size of the kitchen dn the facilities.
Barbara had left us all a gift of her own hens freshly laid eggs, which were certainly delicious, with milk and orange juice. It was like your own mum leaving a loving package for you to enjoy. Was such a wonderful touch. They are very environmentally aware giving us a compose, recycle and normal bin, which is a great feeling for us too.
I didn't want to leave, it was such a wonderful experience and we all agreed we will be wanting got go back with a partner to enjoy the hide away again!!
Getting there might be difficult but they give directions, or the gps does get it right.. Shopping is in Newry in Sainsburys, so i would suggest going shopping first so when you arrive you don't have to leave at all!!

Really 5* rating for this place… Thank you guys, we shall spread the word!

“Beautiful cottage. Absolutely lovely place to stay.”
Reviewed 9 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Sally's Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. Quiet and peaceful surroundings yet very close to all amenities. So warm and inviting. Very kind owner generously left us milk, eggs, butter, homemade jam and chocolate. There was also fresh roses left in a vase in the living room. The cottage is immaculate and so well equipped for guests. The cottage is much more spacious than what can be seen in the photgraphs. The decor is beautiful. Fresh and airy. We thoroughly enjoyed the cosy fire. Ample fire wood close at hand. We just can't say enough about our stay. Thank you very much. We will definitely be recommending this to friends and family.

“Lovely refurbishment in a beautiful area”

I believe we were the first to stay in this recent refurbishment. The spacious property has been beautifully done out to a very high standard. This has been sympathetically done so as to maintain the character of the cottage whilst also providing all mod cons (including underfloor heating and wifi).

The owners were very responsive to all enquiries. They were also very welcoming, leaving generous provisions to start our holiday.

The kitchen is very well equipped with microwave, kettle, oven, fridge. freezer, washing machine, and an extensive range of utensils.

The wood-burning stove in the lounge made for cosy evenings.

We hope to return to this property before too long, to spend more time in this beautiful area.

“Choose Sally's Garden and relax in comfort by the beautiful Northern Irish coast and mountains”

We were the very first visitors to Sally's Garden and were greeted by the owners and soon felt very much at home. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and is way above average so far as energy efficiency is concerned. The underfloor heating is a luxury for us and we can imagine that it would be just as cosy in December. The two decent sized bedrooms are light and airy with very comfortable beds and the well equipped kitchen with dining area allows plenty of room for us all to cook together. The living room with wood burning stove in a wonderful fireplace reminded us of friends' homes in Germany. Having the Mountains of Mourne, Strangford and Carlinford Loughs and the charming town of Rostrevor (with excellent restaurants)so close makes Sally's Garden a lovely place to stay. The apples in the photo taste as good as they look, by the way, as my apple crumble proved.
