Just returned from a wedding at this hotel , spent the night there and have to say it was marvelous. Place and bedrooms are so clean and fresh. Got to thank the cleaners there because you certainly notice. Food was beautiful and well presented. Carvery was tasty with great choice . Staff are certainly well trained in manners as you can't help noticing the pleases and thankyou. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Very friendly. Must give a mention to Luke for his excellent service and also Antony for putting everyone at ease and his excellent people skills. Obviously good management. Will certainly return next time we go to sutton area.

Visited here for a meal with family and extended family. Most of us are off the 2 for £12 deal which was perfectly adequate in terms of value for money. Our daughter ate from the children's menu which was fine for her but bigger children may look for more food.
All in all, a super value for money meal in one of our favourite places on the Lincolnshire Coast. We hope to return next time we are in the area.

Hungry and thirsty we discovered the Bacchus Hotel at lunchtime. Nothing was too much trouble even though it was late and the kitchen was about to finish service and the food and service was great. Added bonus was that they also provided a room that accommodated dogs, so we could eat in pleasant surroundings with the dog under the table! Full marks for being dog savvy and friendly

Really CANNOT understand negative reviews,. We have just returned from our second short visit to the Bacchus.we could not fault the service from all the friendly helpful staff and the owner. ... Who all seem to work extremely hard and nothing is too much trouble. Good selection of real ale.. Including Their own Microbrew beer. Well kept and served We both had fish and chips.. £7.95.. Really well served fresh fish and lovely home made batter taste... Would definitely recommend this.
On both our visits the rooms were spotlessly clean ...plenty of towels toiletries and well stocked hot drinks tray with plenty of milks, biscuits etc. Both rooms we have stayed in had large ensuite bathrooms with full bath and shower over. Admittedly this is a very traditional seaside hotel... So some furnishing might be described as a little dated... But that is part of the character of the place.
Very enjoyable stay, lovely atmosphere in the pub in the evening. Good food there and at breakfast.
The Bacchus has an excellent position in the centre of Sutton on Sea.only minutes walk to the beach.. had two lovely long walks along the beach in both directions. Sutton on Sea is a very small quiet place... And that's why we like it, so much.

Room Tip: Rooms nine and ten both have large ensuite bathrooms with bath with shower over.. Some steps to nego...

Another fantastic visit to The Bacchus with my family in total our party consisted of 13 people 14 on our final day (5 children of varying ages ranging from 8months upto 6yrs old). To cut a long story short we have been using this hotel for many years and nothing is ever too much for any of the staff!! A massive thank you to david and the team and an even bigger thank you to anthony. We know we are hard work as a family especially at breakfast but he always deals with us with respect and professionalism. This hotel is ideal for all ages close to the paddling pool for the youngsters and only a short stroll to the beach for the slightly older youngsters.

The members of our group who stayed with you on 1st and 2nd August wish to express their thanks for making the break so pleasurable and enjoyable. The couple staying in the George Formby room thought it was funny when the rest of the group kept bursting into song, "when I'm leaning on a lamppost". Our meal (for 18 guests) on Friday night was excellent and our sincere thanks must go to Anthony and his support staff for being so attentive and willing to please us all. I really think the Hotel went that extra mile to make us all welcome and cannot thank you enough for making our weekend such a happy one. We will definitely be back. - John Parker, Chairman of Birstall Badminton Club.
