“A great stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in a private room with en suite. It's a beautiful, well maintained and spotless lodge. Liz was very friendly and informative. I prefer to have access to wifi in our room, not just the lounge, but it was really no big deal as there was plenty of room in the lounge and it was a sociable place. I would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful affordable rooms with ensuites. Great location ie close to all local attractions. Abel Tasman National Park, wineries, oh yeah must'nt forget the wineries no need to drive there are wine tours with pickup at your accommodation, so you can drink. Exceptional hosts in Chris and Liz who are a mine of local information not to mention just plain nice people.
The savoury muffins from Up the Garden Path cafe were to die for Chris.

The lodge is nicely located close to Abel Tasman National Park. They can also store your valuables if you go on a hike for multiple days. The kitchen, the garden and the living room are wonderful.
I preferred the main building to the cottages as the cottages don't have plugs.

Room Tip: Main building has plugs - the cottages don't.

Thanks for the lovely feedback about our gardens and facilities. We're not quite sure what you meant about cottages as we don't have any - and all our eight guest rooms have plugs.

A nice place in a beautiful environment. It’s called a backpackers lodge, but it is more like a hotel. We stayed in the ensuite room which had a huge comfortable bed. The lodge is situated in a beautiful garden, really nice and quiet.

Liz was very friendly and gave us some good advice on what to do in Abel Tasman. The lodge is a few minutes drive from Motueka where you can find a huge Countdown supermarket. It is also near the Abel Tasman national park which is great for a day hike.

Very modern, comfortable and clean.. The kitchens are cleaned twice a day by the lovely owners who clearly have a love and passion for their place.. Although its a bit of a trek from town, its not problem if you have a car and it is located in a lovely quiet orchard..

This was one of the best backpackers we've been in - beautiful setting surrounded by apple orchards. Lots of fruit bushes and trees to pick from. Lovely pool. The rooms were clean and cheery. Main building with fully equipped kitchen, great "living room" and separate tv lounge with great movie collection. The owners, Liz and Chris, were always friendly, always helpful.
Really a great place.

This place looks awesome but sadly appeared to ignore all my efforts to ask about availability. I completed the query form on the website and after waiting for a couple of days, followed up with a phone call. I either got an engaged tone or it rang out to answer phone. I left a message providing both my mobile number and email address and after another few days I've still not heard anything. Whilst I appreciate in busy season it's not always priority to get back to people's inquires it's still pretty rude and doesn't make me want try this place again should I be planning another trip down.
