We stayed 2 nights with Lisa and her family. We had the garden room with a nice view on the small lake. We enjoyed the morning breakfast with the family. Graeme's nice father from Scotland was also on visit. I appreciated the conversation we had. Lisa's cookies are excellent. can be recommended without hesitation

We have just returned from our second visit to Lakeside Lodge and had another very enjoyable stay. Our 2 daughters really enjoyed playing with Graeme & Lisa's children and we couldn't keep them out of the pool! We enjoyed a delicious meal with Graeme & Lisa and had a thoroughly relaxing stay in a beautiful location. Highly recommended. Delicious afternoon teas provided in the room too. Hopefully we'll be back for a 3rd visit!

My husband and I spent two nights at Lakeside Lodge in January. The accommodations are excellent and the setting is idyllic. The best part, however, was spending time with our delightful hosts and their three children. We were made to feel as though we were part of the family, yet given every opportunity for privacy when we wanted it. Don't miss out on joining them for dinner! The food is excellent and having Lisa and Graeme join us at the table made for very enjoyable dinnertime conversation. The location is rural yet close enough to Motueka, to the ocean, and to various hiking options, that you are never more than a short drive away from any activity. Also, the Motueka River, well known for excellent trout fishing, is just a short walk away; and Lisa can arrange for a fishing guide.
Our stay at Lakeside Lodge was one of the highlights of our vacation on the South Island.

We had a wonderful stay with Graeme, Lisa and their kids (who treated us like family). This property is set in a very idyllic location, although a little unconnected from town, and they serve awesome fresh breakfasts with their farm providing most of the food. We also had dinner with the family and I can still smell that roast!

We will definitely recommend this place to everyone we know and hope to return next time we visit the area.

How nice to be treated like visiting family, great children to have at the table for breakfast, such wonderful conversations with them, just delightful! Breakfasts were outstanding with farm fresh eggs, their own bacon, best coffee in NZ. The optional dinner is a real treat, don't miss it. The accommodations should be listed 5 star!

Room Tip: Loved the private cabin and enjoyed the views, birds, fowl and livestock.

What a wonderful experience, and a delightful family to stay with, it certainly felt like home!! With charming views of Mount Arthur, Graeme and Lisa were most helpful in suggesting and recommending places to visit in the near by area. I had such an enjoyable experience at Lakeside Lodge and would certainly recommend this to my friends and family.

It has taken me a long time to write this review but better late than never. My husband and I just wanted to thank Lisa and Graeme and their great children for all of the hospitality and for sharing their little bit of paradise with us for 3 days in March 2011. We got the grand tour with Graeme and there is so much to see on this small working farm including lifestock and myriad types of fruit trees. and gardens The accomodations were top class and we especially enjoyed the little chalet on the property. If we ever get back someday we will certainly try to rebook at the Lakeside lodge.
