We stayed at La Lodola one night, in September 2010. A too short stay, since La Lodola deserves a longer stay.
The location is ideal to visit Cortona, Lucigano, Foiano, and, with a somewhat longer but still very reasonable trip, Pienza and the Val d'Ordia and Arezzo.
The restaurant and the rooms are lovely furnished, the garden is perfectly looked after. The only one would change at La Lodola is the road which runs just on one side of the building relying Foiano and Pozzo (if I'm not wrong). However the nuisance caused by the road is limited. The garden, in which breakfast is served and where you cn stay at the swimming pool, opens up to the scenic countryside.
The owner, Mario, couldn't be kinder and more attentive to his guests. Since the Osteria belonging to La Lodola was closed on Modnay, he advised us a very good restaurant in the charming small town of Lucignano (Il goccino).
We will certainly come back to la Lodola and we will recommend it to our friends.More
