what a beauty far from the shore of malpe beach, though visible ,i been once to see then thought of one more then third so attractive, now there s some place like play grounds for kids, well carry some food and drink along with you, worth staying day long rather than a quick visit.

This is a good place to spend some time with family, clean beach with clean waters but be careful as the waters are dangerous here. Carry food along with you.

The island was full of plastic and leftover food, The whole experience can be made better with some nice coves, maybe a restaurant, some water sports (A jet ski was there which was an apology) and a little bit of shade(artificial is also OK)

St. mary's island is "must go" place those who are staying in Bangalore and nearby it. Perfect destination for long weekend(2-3days).The best part is - it is Secluded, Very clean and no crowd. You can go by train to mangalore, from there take a taxi(1.5hrs) or bus()2.5hrs to udupi. There are couple of famous temples to visit but the most famous is krishna temple.Apart from temples, Malpe beach is famous attraction. I liked this beach also ,a little crowded though. But it is clean, you can enjoy sunset or sunrise. Changing room is there but dirty so better go there in beach dress.Personal suggestion, book hotel nearby beach if you are not very keen to visit all temples, it will save your time. From Malpe beach harbour u can take boat for the island. Charge is rs 90/ person for to and fro. Remember -They will not start boat unless they have 35 members. But here comes the sad part, you are allowed to enjoy the island only for 45min - 1 hr.

the best part is that you get to this island on a boat, enjoying the scenery enroute. The worst part - walking through the stench of the malpe fishery harbour.. But once on this island, its hard to believe that you are still in India !! the pristine beach, with light blue- green color water, white sand (yes you can see your feet when you get into water) are all awesome. If you are the photographer kind, I'm sure you'd not want to come back so soon :)
