Helpful staff, good price and just a walk from the river. The saltwater pool was small but very clean and the slide is fun for kids. The rooms were clean, efficient and pretty. The beds had nice linen, but terrible foam mattresses. For anyone with back problems, the sag might do you in. If you don't have back problems, you should be fine. Interesting history to explore in this ancient Pyu city, Sri Kestra. The local museum 8km away showcases quite a few pieces, although sadly, much of the pricier artifacts have long since been looted. The staff can assist in directions and suggested tours.

The pool makes it worth while to stay at this average place. Staff was friendly but not so great by Myanmar standards. Food was ok for breakfast. Pool is hot from the constant sun but somewhat refreshing. Maybe not so clean as there seemed to be no chlorine in the water.

Room Tip: Try and get a room near the pool.

Situated at the top end if town, this place provides you with your own separate roofed room, with a balcony, all overlooking the courtyard with ponds and seating areas. Conveniently just round the corner is the local night market, where you can have fantastic freshly cooked food, from BBQ meats to hot pots and stir frys.
The staff are really friendly and the rooms are really clean and spacious.

Room Tip: Try out the amazing food at the night market round the corner

The rooms are clean and steamlined, not luxurious but perfectly adequate. There is however a refreshing pool, they just need to provide more shelter from the sun.(The umbrellas due to their positioning provide little shelter). The garden that the villas front is well maintained and quite attractive.I like the way each villa has its own verandah facing the garden.
Breakfast is simple but ok, better coffee would be good. The staff on reception are friendly and obliging and the laundry prices are a bargain.

We arrived at the Lucky Dragon after a grueling 5 1/2 hour drive from Yangon and didn't know what to expect. We were blown away by the friendliness of the staff, the size and cleanliness of the room, the grounds, the swimming pool and the great food. Pyay is a bit off the beaten path and it was a last minute add-on to our itinerary but the Lucky Dragon made our stay most enjoyable. The only downside was the overwhelming smell of wood smoke in the morning, not the hotel's fault and quite common throughout Myanmar even at the best hotels.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back

We enjoyed our stay very much, the rooms are excellent and the staff are great! During our stay we were 2 days sick due to our visit to a restaurant down the road. The staff of the Lucky Dragon made our stay very comfortable and assisted where they could. In the end we had to stay an extra night since we were unable to travel, all arrangements were amended and the next day we were able to depart to our next destination. Even though breakfast was not the best we've had, it was still sufficient.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are great, however to assure a quite space ask for the bungalows away from the main...

Needed a rest after some rougher travel options in Myanmar.
Good choice, very tasteful, well-located,' very clean ...happy here. pyay is charming ...only issue is that there are NO bus connections to Ngapali where I am planning to go next.
