“Quaint Thassos”

The staff of the Alexandra Beach Hotel were all charming. The hotel and rooms were clean. However the pool area was quite small for the amount of guests and the sun beds were literally crammed together. The beach area made up for small pool although the sun beds were used by the guests from the adjacent camp site. The hotel provided irons, but not ironing boards, be prepared to improvise !

Room Tip: End of block rooms have much bigger balconies

Lovely clean room with excellent customer service throughout the whole of the hotel. Fantastic choice of delicious food at breakfast and dinner (we were half board). The hotel adjoins a shingle beach which is perfect for swimming, snorkelling and water sports. The spa is a real treat, I had a santorini hot stone massage with full use of the spa facilities for a fraction of the cost I would pay at home. The design of the hotel and facilities means that it never felt super crowded even during peak season. We hired a car for 3 days during our stay and were able to get out, explore, see a good chunk of the island and find our own private beach/cove.
The only improvement that I would like to see is the introduction of an adults only pool or swim time. It's impossible to have a proper swim in the pools due to the amount of children using them (it is their holiday too though) This however wasn't a real problem for me as I prefer to swim in the sea anyway.
We had a fantastic time and and would definitely return to this hotel - and we usually prefer to visit different places. It is a truly special place and we have come home with only wonderful memories.

We recently returned from our holiday at Alexandre beach. It was our first family holiday abroad and it was certainly one we will remember for ever! The hotel was just fantastic in every way...from the moment we arrived we were so impressed. It was clean and well maintained, the staff clearly passionate about their work and keeping the hotel and grounds looking great at all times. The food and presentation was simply amazing, with so much choice, just spoilt morning and evening with what to choose. The drinks from the bar were always presented with nuts and crisps and with wine platters of fresh fruit. The pool area was so clean the only thing I would say is that some of the female guests didn't tie their long hair back and I kept getting hair wrapped round my hands which wasn't nice, so the hotel needs a hair tied back rule. The spa was so nice, relaxing, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. I had a chocolate body wrap which was heavenly! Our room was clean, modern and welcoming, TV not great but who's on holiday to watch TV! Not us! We booked one excursion, the boat cruise, well worth the money and thoughly enjoyed. Getting to the hotel was a bit of a mission but was worth it as it was just wonderful! Fab holiday, great memories.

Our stay at this hotel was as close to perfect as could be. It excelled in every area. Every member of staff around the hotel was polite, helpful and eager to please.
Food was very good, varied, hot and there was always plenty to eat. Tea and coffee during breakfast is provided but drinks need to be purchased during dinner but are at good prices. A note for all male travellers - you have to wear long trousers during dinner! They have a BBQ option in the restaurant (ours was Wednesday and Friday nights) with was excellent and well worth eating. They also did fish on the BBQ n the Saturday night. You also need to try food at the Wine Bar which provides a 5 course meal in a quiet and elegant setting over looking the complex pool. The food here was excellent, the first meal is free and then 10 euros a head there after.
The complex is also in an ideal location to walk into the local town of Potos harbour, which is 5 minutes walk away. There are 3 or 4 fantastic little authentic tavernas to eat at here, but I would recommend Irene's Café/Taverna (not Pizzeria) as the best. There are also bars and little shops here so this makes for a great little walk after dinner.
The hotel is also within easy access to the beach (a 1 minute walk) which provides free sunbeds and umbrellas as well as bar service to your sun lounger! It is a sand and pebble beach with a warm sea. It is quite rocky to paddle out but they do have jetties to lead into the sea. - however I would recommend wet shoes. The pool is of a good size and warm but does get busy, the Jacuzzi is amazing which looks out over the sea. There are also plenty of sun loungers around thee pool and are all very comfy.
It stays warm in the evening therefore no need for a jacket. We got bitten a couple of times therefore repellent is recommended.
The spa is fantastic - would recommend the salt scrub and the Ancient Greek Massage - the staff were extremely polite and professional. And they were very accommodating when we had a morning of cloud (was able to use their sauna/steam room etc) along with my massage.
The hotel provide each room with a fridge and kettle on request but do not provide mugs, cutlery or anything else for eating in your room. The beds were great and provided excellent sleep quality.
Finally, Alan the Thomson rep in resort was excellent. He has a great knowledge of the local area and is willing to help with any problems (he lent me some trousers after not knowing the rules for dinner!)
Overall this was an excellent holiday and would definitely be worth second visit.

Room Tip: Room with a sea view is great, second floor recommended.

We are currently staying at Alex beach now and upto now the whole family can not fault it one bit, the whole experience so far has been fantastic, from the food to the kids club and the spa it is all amazing, everybody makes you feel very welcome. It is a wonderful relaxing holiday with great trips out if you want them, potos and pefkari are literally 10 minutes walk away should you want a change of scenery and a different meal in a local taverna.
If you come with thomson alan the rep is very helpful and you also get 50% off your first spa visit which in itself is brilliant, my wife had her 3rd visit this week, so glad we have another week at this fantastic hotel on this lovely island, would definitely recommend to friends and family.
