“Highly Recommended”
Reviewed 22 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed in the Haybarn as a family (children 32, 31 and 19) over Christmas and had an absolutely wonderful time. The cottage is even better (and bigger) than it looks in the pictures and was very tastefully decorated. Very spacious and comfortable and the scenery is breathtaking - great for long walks and mountain biking (32 year old son very content). The owners were very friendly and helpful - even rescuing us when we got trapped in the snow! Would highly recommend.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 3 December 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Stayed in the old brye for 3 nights and we felt right at home. Lovely views, great value for money and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful.
The thing that amazed us was this place had everything you need (litrally everything you would ever need and more) we could not rate this place any higher.
Will definitely be back.

This is the second time that we've visited Swainsley farm and just like the first time, it was absolutely amazing. Since three years ago, a number of rooms have been redone and very beautiful. We went with two couples and four kids in total. The coach house has a nice big living room, perfect for kids to play. The kitchen is completely kitted out so you can prepare anything you could imagine wanting to cook. The bedrooms are cosy; our favorite is the mezzanine above the living room.

The whole neighborhood around Swainsley farm is gorgeous; we've gone for walk with the kids as well as some great jogging up and down the hills.

The owners of Swainsley farm are exceptionally nice people, I'm hoping we can find some time to go back as soon as we can.

“Absolute paradise!”
Reviewed 28 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The owners could not have done more to make us feel welcome - tea and biscuits awaited us in the kitchen on arrival. We were given an informative tour of the property by Chris who assured us that both himself and wife Liz were close by if we needed anything.
It didn't take long to settle in and relax in this homely setting. The property is well equipped, well maintained and has amazing views over the Manifold valley.
We enjoyed sitting in the sunshine in the lovely courtyard, surrounded by pretty flowers and shrubs and in the evening, feeling snug and warm in the comfy lounge.
Cream teas in Hulme End and an excellent Sunday lunch at Alstonefield were delightful.
Family came to visit us during our stay and also fell in love with the Haybarn.
We only wish that we could have stayed longer and will definitely revisit.

“Wonderful escape in the countryside.”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed in the Coach House with our 3 children for 4 nights. This is a very well appointed cottage with all the mod cons. Plenty of space in all the rooms and very convenient to have 2 bathrooms. Very quiet with only the soundtrack of the countryside. Lots to do in the area including plenty of walks and also only 20 minutes from Alton Towers.
We will definitely be returning again

“Superb accommodation set in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We have just returned from a mid-week stay in the Haybarn cottage at Swainsley Farm and felt it deserved a glowing review. We had booked it as a base for our holiday with the children which was mainly based around the Alton Towers resort (about a 20min drive away) When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the owners and given an overview of the cottage facilities and brief guide to the surrounding areas attractions and eateries. The cottage was superbly appointed in terms of standard equipment, much beyond our expectations and was spotlessly clean and well maintained. We arrived to a pot of tea and tea-cake much needed after 3 ½ hours on the road with 3 children! The view from the cottage was amazing and just a short walk to the Manifold trail which offered easy access to a local tea-room and public house on foot. In retrospect my only regret is we didn't stay longer to enjoy the surroundings more but hopefully we will return again in the near future to rectify this. I would wholeheartedly recommend these properties to anyone visiting this area of the country, simply superb!

“One perfect relaxing week”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were impressed from the moment we arrived till when we left. The cottage had everything we needed and Chris and Liz were looking after us.
The location is perfect for children as they can go around safely and there was a lot of books and activity in the house to entertain them.
