Our fourth visit to this lovely place and we will definitely return again. Wheeldon Trees has 9 superb self catering cottages arranged around a courtyard. Immaculately presented with everything you could possibly need. Deborah and Martin Hofman the excellent owners live on site and are very hands on, nothing is ever too much trouble. Very highly recommended - tip-top place, tip-top people

Cottage ideally situated for visiting this lovely area. Deborah and Martin are wonderful hosts. Lovely cottage with wonderful views in all directions.

There were plenty of leaflets and recommendations available to help make choosing our daily activities easier.

The Long Room (games room) was a lovely alternative for a rainy day/night.

Small food store onsite was handy for last minute dinner options.

Would definitely recommend to all who would like to explore this area.

This must be at least our tenth visit to Wheeldon Trees Farm-and some of those were before the present owners Deborah & Martin took over. They have upgraded the cottages to a standard that is frankly beyond compare, and on top of that they themselves are the most perfect and friendly hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We often go as part of a large group, and they allow us to dine en masse in their "long room." This time there were 15 of us and naturally we invited Deborah & Martin to join us. The setting is little short of idyllic, views fantastic and there is direct access to open countryside. Add to that the superb Buxton Festival in July and you have just the most perfect mix.

This was our second visit to Wheeldon Trees and it was equally as enjoyable as the first. The party comprised six adults, one very active four-year old boy and a just as active, if not more so, twenty-one month old little girl accommodated in two wonderful cottages with everything that such a group would need, including the new coffee machine and sodastream. Deborah, Martin and Nigel (the latter with his "wooden leg" playing along with our pirate-loving grandson) delighted the children every day when animal feeding came round, giving them every opportunity to be "hands-on" and believing they were in charge of the whole operation. The Long Room is a real boon if the weather is inclement having all manner of goodies with which children (and adults) can amuse themselves. As always, Deborah and Martin were on hand to resolve any problems, although these did not arise and, undoubtedly we will be returning in 2015.

We had a few lovely days in June at Wheeldon Trees Farm Cottages. It was a great base for our brief stay, the purpose of which was relaxation and getting out and about to discover the Peak District. Deborah and Martin made us feel most welcome and the cottage was very thoughtfully kitted-out and equipped - we wanted for nothing. Our dachshund Woody loved it too, never having met chickens, ducks and lambs who weren't fazed by a curious dog! Would go back again, having only scratched the surface exploring the Peak District. We went to Dovedale, Chatsworth, Buxton, Bakewell, and the Roaches.

The cottage had excellent facilities all round and I had a very warm welcome. The owners could not have been more accommodating in helping as I had a stand at the Hillhead Show exhibiting Filters.
Sadly too tired to enjoy it all, but look forward to bring my wife for a weekend away from the kids, we can both get a good nights sleep then!

Back to visit for the third time and the cottage was better than ever with even more home comforts. We have three dogs and Wheeldon Trees caters for them just as well. They love the field that is fenced off just for their use and the private gardens from which even our most adventurous dog cannot escape. The walks around the area cater for everyones needs and on your return to the cottage after a full days walk there is no need to spend time shopping as Wheeldon Trees have a fully stocked larder for which you can purchase home made ready meals and just sit back and relax whilst the meal jus heats up. We will be returning again soon.

Room Tip: All cottages are excellent it just depends on the number of beds you require as to which cottage you...
