stopped here in caravan 233 on a sun holiday break easter 2012.it was a 2 bedroomed yes ''standard''van,it was clean with a new microwave, kettle and toaster.there was 88p on the electric meter and was given £4 in tokens which lasted us 4 nights with credit left!! greeted by a friendly girl on reception who was also there on the morning we left and asked if everything was ok.this park is wheelchair friendly around most of the park.we had our two grandchildren with us who loved this place with NO MOANS we were next to the pitch and putt plenty of space to play football etc.forgot being a grandad[kids dont do this anymore because it has no buttons to push etc] lovely warm swimming pool great arcade to dump the kids off and run wild whilst parents have a drink a play boring bingo.this park i believe is under new management and have probaly read the professional whingers comments and took note. i wish them the best in the future and look forward to go back again in the very near future dont knock it!!!!!!!!!!

Overall we had a super time. Friendly staff, clean site, lovely evening entertainment- nothing fancy but good fun and the staff seem to enjoy what they do-which makes a huge difference. WE made friends with the entertainment staff-Rich especially was brilliant!
Had fun doing bingo as a family, adult bingo, 'whats in the bo' where you coulkd actually win quite a bit -but none of it was profit making-and all at a reasonable cost to take part in. Karaoke night was fab-and was great as we have different age children and was suitable for all . Free crazy golf and swimming pool (Which was very clean and super warm).

We have a child with Coeliac diseae who cannot eat anything with wheat barley etc. The chef was brilliant- he sorted out a special meal for him with no hassle at all. We really apprecated this as he didn't feel left out.

The caravan did have some damp smelling corners but overall was very clean and spacious -however thay are not double glazed and despite electric radiators in all bedrooms and gas fire in lounge it was still pretty chilly in April -but after a trip to Boots and a hot water bottle all was well!

Had very lumpy (freshly washed) pillows which after requesting some better ones were given 4 brand new ones with no problems at all -staff couldn't have been more helpful if they had tried.

Because it was so cold we were given some extra credits for the electric too which was a nice touch.

We would definitely go back as it was such a nice atmosphere.

Telly could be a bit bigger though but had new kettle/toaster and microwave in caravan.

The site was always clean and tidy and beautifully quiet in the evening and early morning so you CAN have a lie in. ALso cars do not park right beside caravans so you don't have door slamming right by the bedroom window.

If you are afater a noisy disco themed /dressing up/ full on drinking/clubbing entertainment then go somewhere else!
If youw ant a fun relaxed/safe family enviroment not full of Chavs then go to Rookley and you will have a great time!

Room Tip: take own pillows and a hot water bottle if early or late in the season. The raised up ones are nice and quiet (Mostly 3 bedroom /luxury ones)

After booking my holiday to stay in a 'standard' caravan with my boyfriend I read a review on here that said the facilities such as the bar is often hired out so those that are staying in the resort cant use it, also that you have to pay for electricity everyday. I rang up Rookley park to just ask how much it would be each day for electricity and i spoke to a lady who said she was the manager. She was so rude and horrible to both me and my mum who spoke to her, she shouted at us and asked us 'what do we want her to do about the fact we have to pay for electricity?' when simply all we were asking is how much it will be! My mum had to calm the women down in the end as she was shouting at us. The worst customer service both me and mum have ever had!
We knew our caravan would only be standard, but we didn't expect the shower to be dirty, the caravan to smell and the floor in the bedroom to be so wet that we had to keep a towel on the floor the whole holiday! On the plus side it was fully equipped with everything we needed!
Even though the caravan was a let down the Isle of wight itself is amazing!

I've just spent an Easter week with my teenage kids and have all had an excellent time. Our budget caravan had a very small bathroom in fairness which made towelling oneself down a little awkward and it was necessary to keep a heater on low at night as the duvets were suited to the warm summer months but this was no real problem....we all know caravans are cold in the Spring! The pillow slips were soft enough but the protectors underneath were a little rustly but the beds were comfortable.
The young DJ/Entertainer seemed very genuine and was good with adults and children alike. Most of the staff seemed to be students on holiday jobs and were generally polite and helpful.
The main thing to note is that the park is just south of the centre of the Island which means nothing is too far away but a car is a must really. There is nothing much in Rookley village itself.

I can't see why people are moaning as we have just returned from our 6th weekend break at Rookley and have 3 more booked for this year and we find the accomodation excellent. If there are any problems they are sorted straight away! I must say that the staff do need a bit of training in customer service but this weekend there was a new girl and she is very friendly and helpful. Last year the discos were run by a chap who was very popular with the children so i hope that he will be there when we go in May!
