“Friendly place, with a great restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2013

Stayed here in October 2012, whilst playing on the Nurburgring. Was a busy time with lots of cars going about but plenty parking nearby if not in front of the hotel. Room was spacious and clean, their upstairs restaurant is good with a nice buffet but the downstairs steakhouse was amazing.
Add in lots of german beers, good company and some adrenaline from nearby nordschleife and you have a great trip!
The hotel is run by the family of local racing legend Sabine Schmitz, who is friendly and happy to pose for photo's if you see her there.
The area thrives on motorsport associated with the Nurburgring, so if you don't like that maybe not for you. But even though you are next to a race track it is not noisy but quite beautiful with great scenery. The occasional sound of a car passing by on track makes you want to join in but apart from that it can be quite tranquil.
Lovely area with lots of history.

Came here to eat in May 2012 as a pre-view to this trip whilst on another round Europe and ate in upstairs restaurant. They were happy to cater for girlfriend who is gluten free and we all enjoyed a beer in the sunshine on the balcony resisting the temptation to nip onto the track!

Room Tip: Only stayed in one and it was a busy time, but I think all are good. Good view facing away from the...

Brother, his family and my wife and I spent a couple of nights here (7 of us in all) while we drove the Ring. We were in 4 rooms in the "Guest house" just up the street. Plenty of parking space.
Breakfast buffet was good and filling with much to choose from. The downstairs restaurant, Pistenclause, was a great place to relax after day at the track and food there (Italian) was tasty and the walls are covered with racing memorabilia. If I am ever lucky enough to get back to The Ring this would be my first choice.

Room Tip: If you are bringing your race car then the guest house at Tiergarten is definitely the place to stay...

Great european hotel, very clean and great staff. The restaurants are also very good. I would recommend this hotel for a solo traveler or a couple. For a larger party I would have to send you to the Dorint Hotel.

This was our 2nd time going to the Ring and the boyfriend wanted to try another hotel. He picked a good hotel, you're so close, you can hear the car engines from your room. The food is amazing (breakfast and lunch). The room was nice and clean. We didn't get to try the Pistenclause (boyfriend wanted wiener schnitzel). I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I thought it was a great place to stay. It is minutes from the track entrance and minutes from the big corporate nurburgring monstrosity where you can go to buy souvenirs and stuff. The room was adequate. Breakfast is good and the restaurant pistenklause was also good. Price was just around 100 Euros per night and that included breakfast.

Room Tip: I had a room in the building across the street which and our window looked out to Tiergarten (the fi...

This hotel in the heart of the village of Nürburg is run by the family of Sabine Schmidt, the famous racing driver who has set records on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. It is a short drive from the main car park and entrance to the track, and is frequented by many locals and visitors alike.
The rooms were relatively Spartan, but were clean and comfortable enough during my extended stay there. Wifi was free and reliable. I didn’t see any international channels on the TV, but I guess you don’t go to Nürburg to watch TV. There is free parking at the side of the hotel or in a small open car park across the street.
As other reviewers have noted, the Pistenklause restaurant on the ground floor, which opens in the evenings, serves a great Argentinean steak on a hot stone, which you can cook yourself to your preferred doneness, and for which the restaurant is known. The walls are decorated with motorsport memorabilia, and fellow patrons are friendly and always keen to talk about cars.
Right smack in the village, the hotel is inexpensive and a good place to stay in order to soak up the atmosphere of the village.

Good service, cosy, modern and clean rooms.
Nice restaurant with race atmosphere and good food (Pistenclause) in the basement, OK breakfast in the 1. floor restaurant.
Car parking can be a problem, due to little space.
