“Petrol head heaven”
Reviewed 30 September 2012

Stayed in room 100 named after Jackie Stewart, Room was a good size with a balcony and a view of the track. The room had a small fridge in the room and a good sized bathroom with a power shower. I found the owner and his family to be friendly and helpful. The entrance to the track is a 10 minute walk away as is the castle. There was a good selection for breakfast if the hot food was a little overcooked by the time I eat. Only complaint would be that the power shower should have been cleaner.

Room Tip: Half the rooms have a balcony so try for 1 of them

The hotel was located easy enough and offer great access to the nurburgring.

The rooms are clean but faairly basic but for the price per room with a sizeable variety of options on your continental breakfast included in that, it cant be grumbled at.

The english spoken is varied upon who is serving you.

I have put on here that you need to bring a pillow as you get one pillow in your room and its like sleeping on a marshmallow.

Room Tip: Pub that serves pizza down rd, eng spoken

After the long drive from Blighty to Nurburg I was grateful to find we had a hotel which was conveniently located for 'Ring' access.

Anyone who has been to the Nurburgring will now how gridlocked the area can become, so to be able to ditch the car and set off on foot for initial exploration was a god send on the opening Car Freitag of 2010.

I'll be honest, for the price I didn't expect too much, and in return you don't get too much. The hotel owners grip of English seems variable (they understand when it suits them), but that said we had no issues with them and they were polite enough.

We stayed in the Johnny Cecotto room (most of the rooms are named after drivers from the past), and given the amount of luggage we had to clear from the car before our laps it made the stair journeys to the top floor quite tiring (didn't notice a lift).

The room was reasonably sized, with a lovely balcony overlooking the periphery of the old Ring circuit, but the decor was very 60's. I think the bedding was also from the 60's, and the duvet material was 'interesting' in an exfoliating kind of way! Make sure you're absolutely knackered and you will sleep soundly. The bathroom was small but had a reasonable shower. The icing on this oddball cake was that we had access to free wi-fi which was surprising given the 'olde worlde' feel of everything else.

We headed into Nurburg to Restaurant Pistenklause for 'steak cooked on a hot stone' for our evening meal (about a 5 minute walk), and it was fantastic. Great service, food and price and highly recommended if you stay here.

Breakfast the next morning was self serve and decent enough, so no complaints here.

If you want to hear the Ring, see the Ring, and be right in the heart of picturesque Nurburg whilst saving money for some laps you can't complain about this hotel. Our friends stayed in a room at the other end of the hotel (same time) which was slightly more modern than ours (in a newer wing of the hotel), so there is a variation on the rooms, but overall it's a decent enough stay.

We booked this hotel due to it's location to Nurburg Nordschleife, and for that it was great. It also served a great breakfast in the morning.

Apart from that, it was a bit non-remarkable!

We didn't receive a warm welcome, it was a "here's the key, your rooms in the other building, breakfast is served in here." And even though the hotel had a bar and restaurant we decided not to eat there and see what we could find in the village.

The room was quite roomy, but fairly plain and we could here people talking in other rooms throughout the night.

There were copies of faxes on the walls, where F1 teams thanked the owners for a great stay, but that may well be because there was nowhere else at the time!

Overall, great location for the track but no frills!

A group of friends and I recently stayed here for a long week, while we were visiting the legendary Nürburgring.

The hotel is located literally 5mins drive from the drivers entrance to the nürburgring, in fact you are so close the ring you can here the cars going around from breakfast. It’s also only a 10min walk to the new square full of nightclubs, bars and restaurants.

The zur burg has a great restaurant and bar area with a nice outside seating area, the hotel also has ample free parking.

The rooms are spacious and are very clean, and most have balconies. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, as they didn’t hesitate in putting an extra bed in our room at very short notice.

I will definitely stay here again, during my next Nürburgring visit.

Get location and parking for the Nurburgring. Breakfast was adequate and plentiful.

Beer was slow coming and the owner ought to stay out the back, because he lacks any hospitality skills whatsoever. Talking to one guy a Norwegian he had stayed at the hotel for 9 years and still doesn't know if the owner recognizes him.

That said the place was clean and adequate for a petrol heads Ring stop over. Cheap building and cheap finishes to rooms.
