“soup is the business!”
Reviewed 30 September 2012

We dropped in to the carpark for the car boot sale and it would be only mannerly to pop in for coffee. Coffee generally leads to soup and soup has been known to result in a fullscale meal ...but here the vegetable soup was a meal in itself - we had the coffee too and then off home with our goodies...and some clay from the beach ...but that's another story ...Soup is the business!

“Best restaurant in Argyllshire”
Reviewed 1 October 2008

We decided to walk from Creagan to Connel which is about 8 miles. At Benderloch we came across the Twisted Wheel restaurant which we would thoroughly recommend to all motorists and walkers. Until then we had shied away from restaurants as their prices were off the richter scale. The prices here were very reasonable and the food excellent. A pot of tea at £1.30 provided three cups - in many establishments £1.30 was being asked for a single cup of tea. The bacon rolls were out of this world, and at £1.50 were a bargain. Also at excellent value were the caramel shortcake and the mint chocolate cake which were only 65p for takeaway. We spent £5.60 on our refreshments, money which we would not otherwise have spent. This place is a must for all travellers in the area. It is near the Sea Life Centre which is not recommended for its restaurant prices.
