“wonderful hotel, great staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2013

My partner and I stayed in this hotel with our 1 year old baby in July for a week and we really had a great time. The rooms were spacious and clean. Any problem we had we could just tell the staff and they would help us. They arranged a cake for our daughter's 1st birthday which was really nice. Dinner at the hotel was really good and good portion size. I had one of the best rack of lambs ever there, everything is made fresh so they'd apologise for it taking aprx. 20 min for the main course to come out, however we never thought that was an inconvenience since we were outside in the courtyard relaxing by the pool. The pool is small but refreshing after a hot day on Mallorca, it was good enough for us, but don't expect it to be big.
The town is small but only a few minutes away from the much bigger town of Inca and 20 min from Alcudia.
It's a really cute little town with tiny streets, so parking can be tricky because the streets aren't wide enough to fit two-way traffic, parking, and pedestrians. Most cars have crazy scratches on the bumpers, but that's to be expected with the small streets (keep this in mind if you're renting a car.)
Our room was clean with airconditioning tv, free wifi, minibar spacious closet and a bath. We only really missed a showerhead holder on the wall which was maybe a slight inconvenience. the room doesn't have a phone but considering the hotel only has a few rooms and there's always someone around I could not consider it an inconvenience. Front desk was only a few steps away with a wonderful staff who would give us advice about the beaches and all the things we could do in the area, and helped us with all our needs.
Breakfast was basic with bread, cheese, ham, jelly, boiled eggs, sweet breads, cereal, drinks. Those sort of things but that didn't bother us really since we eat the same sort of things at home for breakfast.
The pictures here on tripadvisor are horribly outdated though, and the room looks very different (better) as can be seen on the booking.com website.
If you are looking for a taste of real Mallorca, something a little bit more quiet and you don't mind being 20 min away from the beaches (but you're a rockthrow away from the stunning mountains!) it's a wonderful place to be.

We had previously stayed at this hotel in Caimari when it was known as the Can Casetes and under private ownership. It has now been taken over by a small Spanish hotel group.

The reception and bar/restaurant had been redecorated and the rooms in the hotel given a fresh coat of paint and new furniture so the place was looking somewhat brighter..

The staff was welcoming & competent, and always ready to fix any problem that we showed up with. However compared to the previous owners they lacked that extra family welcome that you get in so many small private hotels in Spain.

We stayed for 8 nights in the hotel as Caimari is a quiet rural village well located for the hiking trails in the Tramontana. Breakfast was acceptable and the dinner in the evening was excellent, that is until the chef was absent for 3 nights. Then we made do with a tapas menu prepared by the duty receptionist as best as they could.

It was a relief when the chef was back on duty so we could enjoy some excellent cuisine.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone spending a few days hiking in the Tramuntana looking for a good bed in a quiet village. The new owners just need to ensure there is a chef for the restaurant every day!

Room Tip: We always take the double room with terrace on the top floor. Lots of room and the terrace is a grea...

The setting of this small hotel is ideal for those wanting an authentic Mallorcan experience away from mass tourism. It is situated near the main square in this small town at the foot of the mountains, right at the start of a spectacular scenic drive throught the mountains.
The welcome was very personal and the staff spoke enough English so that communication was not a problem. The hotel is an authentic Mallorcan house and the room we stayed in, though an extension felt just as authentic as the rest of the building with thick walls and a lovely view onto the terrace outside. The bathroom was very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very good (a breakfast buffet) and they were only too happy to cook an omelette especially for my partner. Value for money was excellent and we left wanting to return.
