Spent our Honeymoon here, wonderful, friendly service by Gabriel and his staff, nothing too much trouble. Rooms expensive but worth it for the position and quality. Food & drink very reasonable. Suitable for couples but, not necessarily families. Service and friendliness of staff impeccable. Cannot speak too highly of the whole experience.

Room Tip: Junior Suites worth the extra

We had such a lovely birthday celebration at the Villa Sostaga. The food and wine were amazing, the hiking & views were breathtaking and the owners were so friendly and accommodating. A few days before our dog unfortunately broke her leg and we were concerned about making the flight of stairs to get to our room. No problem, they quickly adjusted our room so that no steps were necessary. We didn't have to compromise a thing. The atmosphere was very special but not at all stuffy. My friend who recommended Sostaga told me that if he was near the Lake Garda his family wouldn't stay anywhere else. I thought this was a bit of an exaggeration but after being there I wouldn't stay anywhere else either. Many Thanks!!!!!!!

We arrived at Villa Sostaga after a long flight and a long drive from Milan. After some initial confusion about whether we had taken the right road, we arrived at the front door of a very nice but fairly plain looking building. At the front desk we met Romeo, the hotel dog who looked as relaxed as we hoped to be soon. The owner, Roberto came out to greet us with a very warm hello, and we were shown to our room in the annex. We noticed all of the beautiful antiques all around the halls and in both the main building and the annex. The room was lovely, with a canopy bed, a modern spacious bathroom and all of the same beautiful little touches we had been admiring in the halls. We then stepped outside where the true beauty of this special place hits you. Here we were high above the town of Gargnano, with the most spectacular view of Lake Garda! The sun was shining and the temparature was about 75 degrees fahrenheit with this huge lake spread out before us and surrounded by snow covered mountains! The contrast is spectacular, and we sat by the beautiful pool just drinking it all in. The extremely friendly staff brought us wine and snacks on silver trays and suddenly all of the tension of our lives melted away and we relaxed for the first time in many years. We loved our time at Villa Sostaga and were totally charmed by the tpown of Gargnano when we went exploring the next day. I highly recommend this hotel as a base if you are staying at Lake Garda and want to relax. From here you can go by ferry to any of the bigger towns around the lake, rather than staying in one of these busier, noisier towns. We had considered staying in Sirmione, which we are so gald we didn't do. Sirmione was great and fun, but it was busy and noisy and full of tourists. Gargnano is quiet, calm and lovely by contrast. The restaurant at Villa Sostaga was terrific as well. We absolutely loved this place and consider it one of our favorite destinations ever! We have traveled extensivley prior to giving that up for our children.

If you wish to get away from the city & have peace & quiet with a fantastic view of the lake from high up , then sit down for wonderful food & huge wine selection & served by an attentive staff, if yes, you may never leave.

Room Tip: lake view, 1st floor has balconies

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Villa Sostaga for two nights in May. The hotel sits high up on the hill with a breathtaking view of the lake and the city below. The rooms were clean and big. The location of the hotel was perfect. After a long day traveling around in the city with the crowds, we came back to a quiet, tranquil setting with spectacular views. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The staff were very polite and helpful. We would stay again if we ever come back to Lake Garda.
