We stayed in this wonderful place and loved every second of Sostaga - it is not only the exceptional, beautiful view from the hotel over the lake garda, the spacious garden and wonderful pool areas or the delicious food served in the high class restaurant, but also Gabriele, the owner, his wife, his staff and the dog Romeo who all make this place so exceptional, yes magical that you start relaxing the second you enter Sostaga's property - you will be able to leave your worries behind and be able to find your inner peace and strength just by being there.

Even for short week-ends highly recommended: If you want to get to know the beautiful region around the garda lake, the Italian hospitality and be surrounded by the most beautiful nature, you should not miss this place and its wonderful people.

The views from and of this hotel simply take your breath away! Perched high above Lake Garda (and yes, the road is a little hair-raising!) the vistas sweep much of the length of the lake and the mountains on the other side. Set in stunning countryside with forests and fields, it is a magical setting. The hotel is beautifully put together, with well furnished rooms, extremely comfortable beds, well functioning air conditioning and everything done with understated but excellent taste. You can really tell that this is a family business, with the owner overseeing everything and checking that all is to his guests' satisfaction each night. They catered well to our difficult dietary requests and the service from all the staff was impeccable. The food was good but not the best we have eaten in Italy this year, but the hotel and service were truly wonderful. We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the new building in a room with two bedrooms and ensuite bathroom. Would highly recommend.

If you like a hotel which quiet, elegant with breath taking panorama..... This is the hotel you needed. Their price is a bit expensive, but service is good , warm and helpful, rooms are tidy , nice decorated with excellent lake view. Good restaurant , and almost every food we ate there were nice(we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there) this is a family running, small boutique hotel, all their members, even their doggie is welcoming you!
I have traveled a lot by business and leisure, this is one of the perfect hotel!
However, one disadvantage is ...if you drive to there, the GPS& goggle map give you the wrong driving route, you need to follow the hotel instruction, or the apple map in iphone( this one showed the correct direction)

Dear Guest
Thank you very much for your very good review about our hotel and restaurant. We thank you for pointing out that the GPS navigator gives the wrong directions to reach our hotel. There is a proper 2 lanes asphalted road from Gargnano to Villa Sostaga but the GPS doesn't recognise it. On our web page we give correct driving directions to arrive to Villa Sostaga.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Villa Sostaga

This hotel has a magnificent view over Lago di Garda being located many hundred meters above the small village of Gargnano. The car ride itself climbs over 8-9 Km and every turn provides a different scenery of the lake. The hotel is an old italian mansion that was beautifully renovated by the owner. The common spaces are spacious and decorated with taste. The junior suite was well furnished and very functional. There was a beautiful and large terrasse with an outstanding view.
Meals were traditional italian cuisine prepared with local products from the lake area. All the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Truly an adress to remember.

Room Tip: The junior suites are worth every penny they ask for

Once you have found this beautiful place, its tempting not to drive back out! The views from the restaurant are pretty tough to beat, as is the food. We dined twice in 3 nights. if you plan to go through the Italian 4 courses, definitely opt for the 7 course taster menu which is fantastic value. We stayed in the new quarters away from the main house where the rooms are perhaps more basic than in some hotels but very clean and spacious. The pool is great and there is plenty of parking. only gripe would be the bed was a bit too hard for us, but other than that, cannot recommend it enough.

Room Tip: worth the extra for a lake view...simply stunning!
