We stayed here just one night, and wished it could have been longer. We had a beachfront apartment and one of the Los Volcanos apartments by the pool. We spent most of our time either on the beach or in the beachfront apartment, which has the most fantastic views and the soothing sound of the sea. The beach has beautiful white sand (no matter how hard we tried not to we took some into the apartment with us) and (mostly) gentle breakers - some were a bit fiercer, which was fun. The water is clear and warm. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is ok (we ate dinner and breakfast there) but the waiters seemed to wish they were somewhere else. All in all a great place.

Room Tip: Beachfront is best (unless you don't like the sound of the sea)

My husband and I stayed at one of the beachfront apartments because we had planned the trip specifically to watch an Olive Ridley turtle arribada at La Flor Wildlife Refuge. We definitely were not disappointed! The staff was attentive, the apartment was awesome, and our guide, Fredrico was wonderful. We stopped in Rivas at Maxi Pali and bought a bunch of groceries because the apartment had a kitchen. The kitchenette was well stocked with everything we needed..even a wine bottle opener! It was low season, so we received a special of two nights for the price of one. We may have been the only people staying at Parque Maritimo. We never saw another guest. The beautiful beach was deserted..just the way we like it. Fredrico took us to La Flor to see the turtles. He was so kind..holding a large umbrella over me, while I watched turtle after turtle dig nests, lay eggs, and cover up their nests. It was an incredible experience. I was a little concerned about the road to get to El Coco beach. During the rainy season, a 4 wheel drive is recommended. However, our taxi driver had a low rider car and didn't have any problems. We were so pleased with our stay and we would highly recommend Parque Maritimo as a place to stay near La Flor Wildlife Refuge. Thanks so much for everything!!

Parque Maritimo el Coco has bigger and smaller houses, the good thing is that they all have a kitchen so you can cook your own meals, the big house are favorable if you are with a decent group. The houses are nicely located and give a privat feeling. We stayed at one of the beachfront appartments, awesome views and great and big balcony overlooking the beach and the pacific. The house is okay for a couple with 1 child, too small for 4 adults. The bathroom is outdated and need to be refurbished. The bed is excellent and if the weather is good that is the only thing you really need. The prices are on the higher side, especially if you compare with some of the hotels in Tola. However you will probably not be able to find a cheaper beachfront house in Nicaragua except in more popular Pochomil. The restaurant is fine for a few days. If you want a cheaper lunch or dinner just walk a few hundred meters down the beach and you will find a hostel where they also cook meals at half the price of Puesta el Sol. However we enjoyed the restaurant quite a lot as they have a nice pool and direct beach access with chairs, hammocks, volleybal net, etc. We definitly would go back there if we visit Nicaragua again. Do not forget to do an excursion to La Flor if you are there between July and December.

Very clean, nice apartment ( Los volcanos). Quality/price report is just perfect. Kitchen has everything you need for a small stay. Service is very good, quick. Beach is in two steps from house, beautiful, clean Small Pool is just in front of your house, equipped with a shower. Only the restaurant has disappointed us. Fortunately, breakfast was included at no additional cost, but we were waiting for almost for an hour, portions are small for Nicaragua (and pricey if you have to pay) and a lot of flies. But still complex is very nice place to stay with everything you need and good service.

Dear Pablo: The staff of Parque Maritimo el Coco appreciate your review about the hotel. In our web site content or emails correspondence, none of our staff offers Umbrellas on the beach because we do not have them. I apologize if you understood there were umbrellas on the beach.
