“Quiet and relaxing”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

A comfortable and relaxing atmosphere with an amazing spa! The room was simple and not luxurious, and the hotel itself needs some attention to detail, but overall we were very pleased with our experience.

Peaceful surroundings in the midst of pine forest is the best part of this hotel. The standard rooms are rather basic (i.e there are no toiletries) and have this distinct hotel smell usually encountered in cheaper/big hotels (probably comes from some cleaner). Though we kept the window open a lot, the smell was always there and made entry to the room slightly unpleasant. Otherwise the bed was comfortable, view to the forest calming and WIFI fast enough.

The SPA (bath and saunas) were enjoyable even on Saturday when they are the busiest and during weekdays you can probably have them all to yourself. The Finnish sauna is hot (90-100C) as it’s supposed to be and the heater relaxing chairs have lovely view to the forest. Also all SPA treatments were super nice and done by friendly and professional personnel.

As said by some others already the buffet meals were a disappointment and would definitely need more emphasis on being local (as advertised). Three times in a row the dinner was potatoes and meat (limited to 1 pc per person), so I can’t imagine what people with special dietary needs should do. Breakfasts had a bit more variety, but fruits (why not local berries?) were always short and again the taste of many items could be improved.

All in all I would stay again as the overall experience was very relaxing and the possibility of taking long walks in the forest made up for small deficiencies, but next time I would discard the buffet and opt of the a la cart menu.

Room Tip: I would take the room with the view to the back of the hotel, as in front is the parking lot. Also b...

If you like nature and quiet environment this is the place to go. Staff was great. We had couple of treatments which were ok. Food was good every time. One minus for the lack of air conditioning. When its hot outside then its hot inside. Take your own fan with you if possible. We had a room at second floor so we kept balcony door open at night. It helped to sleep and it was nice to wake up to bird songs in the morning.

There is also plenty of parking space. Wifi was positive thing too. We would go there again.

Actually we didn't look for any SPA, we need a place for stopover during our next estonian trip. The reviews were good, photographs inspired so we booked the place for one night. Every good word about Kubija is true. The evening was perfect: we sat in the bar for a while, took a long walk around the neighborhood, took sauna. Forest behind the hotel starts here, the lake with a pontoon (there was a slight fog, fantastic view) and I think we saw a beaver:-) Perfect! The building is pretty new, rooms are good and so is the breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Excellent SPA, very good location, very friendly staff, best pools and saunas. If you are vegeterian and can't find anything from the menu - just ask for an omlette or mashed potatos with fresh salad - and you'll be surprised by the price :)

I have went to Kubija for some years now and the place is always better. Wonderful and friendly staff. New excellent SPA with inside and outside saunas and various pools. I stayed there for 4 nights for fast. Lost about 4kg. Enjoyed different procedures and skiing. The ski run starts at hotel and is about 3km. long. It is lighted at the evenings so it is comfortable to go ski any time and relax in sauna afterwards. In summertime there is beautiful lake for swimming just ca 400m. from hotel. I can really recommend this hotel :)

It was a spontaneous decision to spend a weekend in a SPA anywhere in Baltics. Our objective was to please our bodies with some massages and relaxing body-treatments. We aimed for a place which was at fare-enough driving distance from our home, a place surrounded by pure nature. Kubija Hotel and NatureSpa suited perfectly. There is no luxury but a great value for price. Fantastic staff - kind, helpful, professional and humble at the same time, in the most positive meaning. Good choice of procedures/treatments, performed in high quality but at very moderate prices. Unfortunately for us, spa procedures were so fully booked that we had to take what was available... so, book your stay/program at least a week or two in advance! The new Spa center was great - 5 saunas, pools, nice interior, usually very quiet and good to relax.
Breakfast, restaurant - reasonable choice but everything delicious. Again - superior value/price ratio! Hotel is clean, quiet. There is a beautiful pine-forest behind the hotel, rich with wild berries and mushrooms. And there is a network of well maintained trails for hiking, jogging, skiing... Everybody can find a suitable distance for fitness.
We got more value than we expected. Very satisfied.
