From the moment we arrived we were made to feel completely at ease by our very special hosts. Absolutely faultless room, amazing garden with charming nooks plus hospitality, food and attention to detail that made staying at Casa Rosada an experience that we already plan to repeat.
Add to this how simple it is to access nature, townlife, Spain..... Go. You'll love it too.
Thanks so much to Andrew and Rupert for making our break great.

My wife and I had had a very difficult year (illnesses in the family, a new job, etc..) and we desperately needed a break. We were looking for a quiet place just to relax and do nothing. For some reason, I came across Casa Rosada's website. It looked great so I checked the reviews on Trip Advisor. I thought "They are too good to be true...but I'll give it a try". I will never regret it. It has been one of the best weeks in our lives. Casa Rosada is much more than a B&B, it's like spending some days with two old friends, Andrew and Rupert, who are two of the kindest and warmest people we have ever met. The house is beautiful. Large rooms and bathrooms exquisitely decorated...and with no TV sets! The garden, where breakfast is served, is a dream. Lavander, Palm trees, lemon trees, orange trees....It's all there. And the silence. Take a good book, ask for some tea, and simply enjoy. I could go on and on writing about CR and its owners but I simply have to say: Thank you, Rupert and Andrew, for making our week in Portugal an unforgettable one.

If you want an authentic Portugal combined with tranquillity, good food, great beaches and great hosting, this is the place! However, this is a B&B so not a place to mooch around all day like you can in a hotel; having said that, Andrew and Rupert are very relaxed and you’re not under pressure to be out by 10am. It has a very eclectic style, high quality linen and a serene feeling of being away from it all; which you are! So, you do need to have a car staying here to get to some truly wonderful beaches as well as lots of excellent restaurants (Andrew and Rupert can give you plenty of recommendations – nearly all of which we tried and weren’t disappointed). However, if you eat in (which is an option) then you can’t go wrong, Rupert is an amazing chef. The ‘Cooking Day’ experience is a must for the “foodie” – great fun shopping at the market, preparing the food, cooking and then finally eating your chosen dinner. It also incorporates a trip over the border into Spain and a lunch true tapas style (we get it so wrong in the UK). ENJOY, we certainly did and would recommend staying here whole-heartedly.

...the world would be a better place, and boutique hotels would go out of business! I honestly don't know where to start with the compliments. We visited Casa Rosada for a short four night break, and we could not have wished for better. Our room was incredible, with a first class shower and bath. Rupert and Andrew were incredibly helpful in guiding us to the best places in the area, and sorting out our taxis etc (as we did not rent a car). We took advantage of Rupert's first class cooking on two nights, the standard of which was up there with the best/finest restaurants in London. The breakfasts were fresh, sumptuous affairs, taken in the lovely, well kept garden. I could go on, but trust me, this place is mighty fine. A real find. You get the impression it's not just a business venture for these proprietors, but a labour of love.

Like one of Rupert's tasty desserts, Casa Rosada consists of a great base with a generous topping of lovely extras. From here we were able to explore this part of the Algarve and thanks to Andrew and Rupert's recommendations we found pretty towns and villages and perfect beaches. They also directed us to some wonderfully located local beach restaurants, though sadly the food never matched the quality of dinner at Casa Rosada. Attention to detail is evident throughout - from the comfortable and impeccibly clean rooms to the beautifully presented breakfasts. This attentiveness also extends to helping sort out any problems - when we realised we'd need our own transport to explore the area they helped us find a local car hire and when the mosquitoes got too peckish they swiftly moved dinner indoors. We arrived not really knowing what to expect, but left feeling we'd spent a lovely week with old friends.

Casa Rosada is an elegant yet friendly retreat nestled in the southern most east corner of Portugal. Located in a lovely historic village and within easy distance of a number of beaches and areas of cultural interest.

Attention to detail, personable service, evocative and enticing furnishings, a magical garden and the best dinners I had in Portugal are all hallmarks of this special place.

I hope to return.

Our friends recommended Rupert and Andrew's guest house and we are very happy that we followed their advice. We had the downstairs room which was great for us bc we had heavy luggage. Our hosts went out of the way to help us finding local beaches, fantastic restaurants and with our personal needs. The food they served for breakfast and dinner was amazing. Learning how they sourced food from the garden or locally made it even more enjoyable. There is a plant in the garden that only flowers at night. The castle (1 Euro) is just a short walk from the house which gives a great view over the valley. Thank you for being part of a memorable vacation!
