Our family of 4 adults stay at Rose Cottage. It was our "Irish Cottage" dream come true. Located right on the Irish Sea, it's a beautiful place. The cottage was warmly furnished and made us feel right at home. Cathy was a great hostess -- even bringing us warm scones! There is a bus nearby that will take you into Dublin. Wish we could have stayed longer!

From the time you drive through the gates you feel like you are in a fairy tale! I stayed in Little Orchard and found it to be an absolute dream! Cathy, who cares for the Cottages and their visitors could not have been a more delightful, attentive hostess. Upon our arrival we were met with Irish kindness and welcomes as well as fresh scones and jam! Most of the cottages have a sea view and they are all just steps away from the shore. The beach is the most beautiful scene when the horses are running up and down the sand at low tide. I stayed here for 8 nights. The first 3 with my mother and father, then 3 nights alone and the last 2 with my husband when he arrived. I never felt unsafe during the days alone and Cathy made sure to check in on me which was very kind of her. And while all the cottages were occupied, you never felt intruded upon. At first I was worried that there would be absolutely nothing to do, but the small village of Bettystown is a 5 minute walk with two great restaurants, Fate and Relish to go to. There is also a brand new Tesco as well as a nice family run grocer. As for golf there is plenty. Sightseeing is near as well. Trim Castle (Braveheart) is about 40 minutes away, Dublin 20 minutes and my husband and I had a wonderful day trip to Belfast (1hr and 30min). But if it's peace, quiet and beauty you are looking for, all you have to do is step out of the door of your cottage. I cannot wait to go back! Thanks again for a wonderful vacation!

A little space of calm. We loved it here, once you go through the gates its like another world! The cottages themselves are beautiful and everything you could possibly need. This place is simply beautiful and run to the highest standards. Go there and enjoy...

My husband, son (20 months) and I recently had the pleasure of staying in the Garden Cottage. They have 4 others too. It was such a great ireland exprience to stay in a small town, on the beach in a thatched cottage. The gardens are beautiful with lots of flowers (that they even allow you to cut to put in your own cottage), apple trees, green grass, and even a small playground on property with toys for kids to play with. My toddler lover the little tricycle, soccer balls, swings, and plastic bowling set in the playhouse. The cottage itself was beautiful. It had a master bedroom upstairs with ensuite bathroom. It had a second smaller bedroom downstairs with full bath too. Each bathroom had a seperate tub and shower and were very clean. The living room was very cozy with a small fireplace and a window seat to look out at the garden. It had a TV with DVD/VCR and they let you use their card if you wish to rent videos in town. It had a nice little kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator and washer/dryer. We were amazed at how cozy and clean it was. Nice hardwood floors with large throw rugs etc. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is in the country, so we did have a couple of spiders and a mosquito or two, but not too bad. A car is essential because Bettystown is the only thing in walking distance (about 10-15 minutes walk), and they have a couple of pubs and restaurants as well as 2 grocery stores. However, if you want to see any good sites, ie Trim Castle, Battle of the Boyne sites, Slane Castle, Newgrange etc. They are all a short drive away, 20-30 minutes. As an American, it was my 1st time driving on the left, and it was easier than we had expected. Great overall experience and a great value for families.
