This is a once in a lifetime experience. An idyllic tranquil setting in a wonderful location on the beach. The early morning walk to pick up the paper and the freshly baked bread from the local village is only beaten by the early evening walk to the local pub for a pint of a Guinness! The Cottages are immaculate, both in terms of cleanliness and furnishings. If you want loud, in all senses of the word, The Cottages are not for you. They are for those who want to pursue the pleasures of life without artificial stimulants (although the accommodation does have satellite tv/dvd systems and wi fi) we rediscovered the simple pleasures and came home totally relaxed and refreshed. As the many other positive reviews (apart form one unbelievable comment about cleanliness !) testify this is a wonderful place to stay and I heartlly recommend it to anyone who wishes to experience the nice things in life

Let me start out by saying the place is beautiful and the restoration of the cottages is top drawer. That said, we stayed in a cottage with an upstairs...and I think that it has been a good couple of years since it has been vacuum...sweep, maybe, it looked like it had been sweep. But the carpet needs a good vacuuming or it startes to smell very dusty and heavy. There is only one small window over the stairs (in the bedroom proper) that could be opened for fresh air...it really was difficult to sleep with the dust.

"The team at the The Cottages clean and service each property every three days and after every rental so we were a little surprised to read this review. We pride ourselves on our high standards and if these concerns had been bought to our attention at the time we would have rectified them immediately. We welcome all reviews and feedback and although this is the first blip we have recorded on our previous unblemished record we will be working doubly hard to ensure no guest is ever in a position to submit similar comments"

We were looking for a home base from which to explore the region, and the Cottages couldn't have been more perfect. Although located in the middle of development (you can easily walk to town for dinner or groceries) once you drive inside the gate you feel you are in your own little slice of heaven. The cottages are absolutely lovely, and have retained their historic feel while being totally modern inside. There is everything you need--comfortable beds, washer and dryer, kitchen, good living space, etc., all tastefully decorated. The grounds are lovely, with a sloping lawn down to the beach. The location works well for day trips to such places as Trim Castle and Bru na Boinne (not to be missed), and the owners and staff are all extremely friendly and make sure you are well taken care of.

Our family of 4 adults stay at Rose Cottage. It was our "Irish Cottage" dream come true. Located right on the Irish Sea, it's a beautiful place. The cottage was warmly furnished and made us feel right at home. Cathy was a great hostess -- even bringing us warm scones! There is a bus nearby that will take you into Dublin. Wish we could have stayed longer!

From the time you drive through the gates you feel like you are in a fairy tale! I stayed in Little Orchard and found it to be an absolute dream! Cathy, who cares for the Cottages and their visitors could not have been a more delightful, attentive hostess. Upon our arrival we were met with Irish kindness and welcomes as well as fresh scones and jam! Most of the cottages have a sea view and they are all just steps away from the shore. The beach is the most beautiful scene when the horses are running up and down the sand at low tide. I stayed here for 8 nights. The first 3 with my mother and father, then 3 nights alone and the last 2 with my husband when he arrived. I never felt unsafe during the days alone and Cathy made sure to check in on me which was very kind of her. And while all the cottages were occupied, you never felt intruded upon. At first I was worried that there would be absolutely nothing to do, but the small village of Bettystown is a 5 minute walk with two great restaurants, Fate and Relish to go to. There is also a brand new Tesco as well as a nice family run grocer. As for golf there is plenty. Sightseeing is near as well. Trim Castle (Braveheart) is about 40 minutes away, Dublin 20 minutes and my husband and I had a wonderful day trip to Belfast (1hr and 30min). But if it's peace, quiet and beauty you are looking for, all you have to do is step out of the door of your cottage. I cannot wait to go back! Thanks again for a wonderful vacation!
