We have been to Turunc many times but this was our first in the past 10 years. We were pleased to see little has changed. Same lovely people, same beach even old familiar faces. The rise in "all inclusive" hotels has had a negative impact on the town as they do little to improve the economy. Ten years ago there was only one, now wrist bands are everywhere and the bars and restaurants are suffering. There are still more than you can visit in two weeks and all are wonderful. Tax has increased the price of alcohol to about the same price as UK but this is no bad thing.
We went with Thomas Cook and the transfer to and from Turunc was awful. In the past small coaches were used to transfer directly to Turunc. Now they use huge coaches to Marmaris and a Taxi or mini coach to Turunc. This adds at least 90 mins to the transfer not including the "comfort break for the reps" and thats if the bus/Taxi is waiting, it was not. All those regular visitors use J & M and arrange private transfers. TC loose out but so do its customers. Dalaman on the way out is horrendous. Very hot and two security checks and if you are on a full big coach very very slow and frustrating. We will return but not with Thomas Cook unless they sort out the transfer. Four and a half hour transfers are no joke.
I feel sorry for the reps as most people have been before and know J &M are better and less expensive.
Great place but the tour operator should be ashamed at putting customers to such an ordeal.
