My review is primarily of 6801. We stayed 10 days in July. It is a ground floor 3b/2b unit with a gorgeous view of the ocean. That's was the saving grace for this unit. It is obvious that the owners don't care about their unit at all and don't fix anything that breaks down, such as te following items:
1. a/c in rage living room/kitchen/ main living area does not work. According to the realtor that manages the property the owners will not authorize them to fix it. Should have been disclosed on the listing. We roasted and sweated while trying to eat our meals or watch TV. Coud only open one window because all the other ones have no screens and Mosquitos and flies were abundant.
2. The cabinet under te sink has had water damage, warped and smelled like mold, therefore all the drawers where the utensils were kept also smelled like mold.
3. The washer and dryer are rusty and stained our clothes a rusty yellow. It looks like the machines were picked up from the junk yard.
4. Sink faucet in hallway bathroom is not bolted to the sink so when you try using it, it moved all over te place. We stopped using that bathroom because we were afraid that te pipes would burst.
5. Nowhere to store your stuff in the master bedroom, the owners have the closets locked up. We ad to live of the suitcase.
6. No beach chairs nor BBQ grill as stated in the listing. The realtor let us borrow his own BBQ.
7. Sheets and towels have stains.
8, ice maker does not work.

It's too bad that the condo is so run down because we loved the location of the condo being beach front and a few steps from the pool. The grounds and amenities are nice, my kids really enjoyed swimming until late at night..
Please note that this resort is about 40 minutes from Od San Juan and about 10 minutes to a supermarket.

Room Tip: I recommed to Stay in aquatika, but a different unit.

From the previous reviews I knew what these rentals were. Keep in mind these are summer rentals people that rent them out live there but probably not yearly. I rented duplex # 2103 was ok and supplied everything that we needed beach chairs, towels, laundry and dryer, AC,beds were comfy. A TV in all 3 bedrooms and the living room WIFI that daughter was able to connect with PC I just couldn't connect my kindles :( no worries though. There was also a pool table on the 2nd floor and a large terrace with BBQ. was a little rusted but we made the best of it and cooked on it. We were provided golf clubs as there is a miniature golf there, a basketball as there are 2 courts there and well as tennis rackets for the tennis courts. Also up there was a large table with umbrella and 6 comfy chairs. This duplex was located more towards the front had the pool in front had to walk a little to beach and slides. Keep in mind the slides and sprinklers are only on on the weekends. The beach is gated small a little dirty but the water warm. There are some stray dogs there 2 but they were never an issue or bothersome. The location was great 20 minutes away from Luquillo and old san juan and El Yuque rainforest. We enjoyed our stay was nice to come home and get in the pool its open till 1AM. Keep in mind this place gets pretty packed during weekends but during the week its really quiet. Walmart is not that far to go there for groceries I just couldn't believe a gallon of milk cost $6. I would def go back.

Room Tip: There are a variety of rentals some are more modern then others can search for them on the web at homeaway.com

Aquatika is a great getaway and has plusses and minuses to consider. We stayed in unit 1003, which is a penthouse unit, in May, 2013. The condo had three good sized bedrooms, two baths, two living areas and a great rooftop patio. The patio had plenty of seating and a very nice gas grill. It all worked very well for our family of two adults and four younger kids.

One thing to note about Aquatika is that it is not a touristy place - more a second home condo community for folks in PR. Thus, it is never busy, even on the weekends. If you understand that going it, then you will understand why there are never that many people around. Grounds are well maintained and things are in good working order.

A number of people have posted negative reviews about the town of Loiza. It is not a tourist town, so don't expect it to be. It is a lower income village and Aquatika is built right in the middle of if but we never had any problems or concerns about the area. There is really nowhere to eat in the town, so you will either want to bring in food to cook or go to the nearby towns of Rio Grande or Canovaras. Rio Grande is 10-15 minutes away and has a variety of options including El Verde BBQ, which is great to take back to the condo.

The town of Loiza is perfectly located for exploring NE Puerto Rico - about 15 minutes from the El Yunque rain forest, 20 minutes from the great beach at Luquillo, half an hour from Fajardo and 45 minutes from San Juan. Would definitely recommend a catamaran trip and snorkeling in Fajardo. We went on the Spread Eagle and had a great time. Bio Bay in Fajardo was interesting, but not incredible.

The Aquatika complex has 5 pools and 3 hot tubs, all of which were great. Kids had a ton of fun. The beach was fine but not as great as Luquillo. Aquatika had no options for food when we were there as the snack bar was never open - not even on weekends as we had anticipated. Water slide is only open on weekends, but that didn't take away from our enjoyment of the place.

Overall, it would be nicer if there would food options nearby, but that is the only negative we experienced in this really nice place.

This is the place I dream of when I think vacation! The apartment is nice and had enough room for the 6 of us to be comfortable. The view!! You could sit on the balcony and take in the view forever. Just a short walk down to that beach you see from the balcony. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub which was only busy on the weekend which is when they open up the water slides, etc. I loved just hanging out there during the week. It almost feels like you have the whole place to yourself. They were cutting the coconuts off the trees while we were there and we were able to grab one to crack open and eat. There were little lizards running around and we even saw a couple of Iguana's. Walmart is only a few miles away if you need to pick up some groceries, which is really nice since you have a place to cook. There is also a nice grill on the balcony. This is the second time I have stayed at this condo. If I could choose only one place to vacation, this would be the place. It is a little piece of Paradise! Thank you Damaris for opening your home to us. We hope to be back soon!

Room Tip: The unit I was in faced the beach. It was beautiful!

We had a fabulous month at Aquatika. While the surrounding neighborhood doesn't offer much, the resort itself is very well equipped. We loved having a kitchen to cook for ourselves, lots of pools, and easy day trips to all kinds of things including the rainforest, Luquillo beach, San Juan, and Arecibo.
