“great accomodations”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

aquatika is a great place to stay at in puerto rico. we are a family of seven, and we rented an apt from angel acosta, who gave us cheap but very comfortable accomodations (3 bedroom 2 baths with towels and washer/dryer and cooking and eating utensils). we stayed at apt. 4902 which was not bad at all. the apt complex was well maintained with the grounds and pools cleaned everyday. directly in front of us was the pool with the heated jacuzzi. it was so nice to just soak at the heated pool for a long time. and there's also the private beach which was nice too. there's a restaurant right at the beach next to the apt. complex. the fresh seafood esp. the fried whole red snapper and shrimp empanadas were to die for. the only thing was it's only open on the weekends. when we got there, we did not have a car so we hired a cab to drive us there ($60 is the regular rate to get to loiza from the airport). our very nice and honest taxi driver (jose lopez 787-9420262) drove us to the apartment, then to walmart and waited an hour for us to shop for food and toiletries, then drove us back to the apt. but only charged us cheaply for it. at our last day there,he also picked us up and took us to old san juan for a walking tour (he waited again for us for 2 hrs while we were touring and only charged us $30/hr). we left our bags with him too. the only thing was since we didnt have a car, we were basically trapped inside the apt complex because there's no restaurants (except for the one earlier which is only open on weekends)/other establishments there. we were only there for 4 days though, so it didnt really matter. we got a lot of r&r which for me translates to a really really nice vacation.

Aquatika is the nicest vacation rental we have ever stayed at. All the furnishings were very comfortable and modern. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the different living areas. My son and husband enjoyed watching the TV in upstairs room, while I enjoyed looking out the floor to ceiling windows downstairs. The view of the lazy river pool and palm trees was awesome. We all enjoyed outdoor patio to sunbath. The ocean was so beautiful and not crowded. We went to Café Los Migueles which was about ½ mile away everyday for the best pastrami and philly sandwiches. The pharmacy across the street also had food. All the food was very reasonably priced. Cathy was very helpful and met us the first day. We followed her to Café Los Migueles . We enjoyed ourselves so much, we decided to stay one more day. Cathy gave us a super rate. We will definitely stay there when we return to Puerto Rico.

Room Tip: Choose the Penthouse it has many sitting and living spaces, and gives great view of sky and gardens.

This is a great jumping off point for adventures in El Yunque, and for exploring the northeast of the Island. There is a beautiful, private beach, as well as a nicely manicured pool area. The crushed pebbles around the pool are tough on bare feet though. The rooms themselves were wonderful. Also there were all sorts of extras, like included charcoal for the grills, washer and dryer, and boogieboards. We rented our place from Glenda Reyes, and we really enjoyed it.

We stayed in the penthouse apartment managed by Cathy and Yamil. Cathy was amazing to work with. She answered all our questions quickly and we were always able to get in touch with her at any time. She met us at the car rental company (Charlies) and showed us were to get groceries and then took us to Aquatika. There were 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The place was very clean and we had plenty of room for all of us. The girls are on the high school tennis team and we needed 2 more tennis rackets which Cathy brought to us as soon as we asked. We also asked if we could get a volleyball which she didn't have but bought one and brought it to us. We had a problem with one of the air conditioners and she had a repairman there the next day. She was amazing. Aquatika was a very safe place to stay. We would definitely go back. We loved the rain forest.

We had a wonderful time at Aquatika. We rented both of Angel's condos # 1902 & #5401. Angel made every effort to make our stay completely enjoyable.

We traveled to Puerto Rico with 8 Adults & 7 Kids. We rented both of Angels Condos which we absolutely loved! Aquatika was the perfect location as we had scheduled seeing San Juan and visiting Fajardo which is where the ferries & kayaking trips take off. Aquatika is in the middle of both of those cities, so it was the perfect location.

Aquatika itself was absolutely beautiful. The grounds were well kept, the beach was minutes out our door, and the pools were delightful. The kids enjoyed playing in the sand at the beach, playing miniature golf, and swimming in the different pools.

Angel was the perfect host. He made sure we were set up and had everything we needed for our vacation. The Condos were fully loaded with anything you could want. Angel also gave us a wonderful tour of the El Yunque Rainforest. He was so patient with our 7 kiddos and helped us have a wonderful time.

We would highly recommend renting from Angel and staying in Aquatika, we will definitely be doing it again!

Room Tip: I've heard that not all owners at Aquatika keep their condos well maintained. If you use Angel...

We had a great time at Aquatika ! We stayed in 2601,which was owned by Yamil and Cathy Seda. They were great to us the place was clean and well equipt. The grounds in Aquatika were very well tended and the pools were great. The place is a little out of the way but well worth the drive. We wanted a vacation that you didn't chase yourself and was exhausted when you got home. This place was just what the doctor ordered. Cathy and Yamil are the way to go if you are staying at Aquatika ! She was on top of everything from what I could see and was super helpful with stuff to do in the area ! We love Aquatika and will definitely stay there when Cathy and Yamil can fit us into their schedule. The condo was perfect for us,there was 4 adults and 3 teenagers. We loved the fact that it was at the end of the lazy river ( maybe 15 steps) so the kids could swing while we sat on the patio and had coffee. The pools were open late so if you did spend the day exploring and was hot and tired when you got back you could still enjoy the pool or the hot tubs ! We also loved the fact that we could cook and do our own laundry. All in all it was fantastic, thank you Cathy and Yamil !!!

I had a great owner/lessor (Cathy & Yamil) and I think this makes the difference between a great experience and a horrible experience. First, many of the people offering the rooms are NOT the owners, just more like agents. Cathy and Yamil were great, others I had spoken to were clearly out to make a buck. One claimed that he had the ONLY beachfront property and that was clearly not true and raised the price saying they were old prices yada yada. So I'll tell you about my experience WITH THESE GUYS ONLY.

We had unit #6702, pics were right on target and I always talk to my prospective owners and Cathy called immediately and said she only worked with units that she would have her family stay in. The unit was clean, we did not have any problems with bed bugs, the unit was relatively well maintained, had all of the things needed for a two week stay.

We had a baby, they had a pack and play ready for us, brought a high chair. We asked where we could rent rackets/clubs/etc., and the next day they were at our doorstep. Our refrigerator started having some defrosting issues--emailed Cathy and the next day she had a technician come by and fix it (she even stayed in the house while he was there, while we went to El Yunque). The power went out (as in most islands the grids are not as robust), I got a call, email saying she would keep us updated--no need, we just enjoyed the beachfront view!

The beach was great, there was nearly no one around so most times, it was just a private beach to ourselves. The pools were often all to ourselves. There was a pretty decent security presence. I would like to mention we were running late and we just showed up to our unit and within a few seconds a security guard was there when we looked suspicious trying to get in and got them from their unit when we told him what was happening.

Cathy & Yamil also have a unit on the premises which I think makes a huge difference. I think this was a wonderful vacation, but choosing the right people to trust is so important. This 5 star review is probably because of them--they made it work, they made it worthwhile.

Room Tip: Work with Cathy & Yamil. I think the penthouse suites are overrated if looking at "livable...
