“Worth a visit”

Iris Griffith Wetlands
Reviewed 16 July 2014

Lovely place to learn about the local flora and fauna, and how to protect the environment. The floating pontoon and the bird-watching hide are good places to see dragon-flies, humming birds, etc.

…..sadly the tree was cut down in the '90's (may be wrong on that date), but this tree started growth around 154AD. Seriously. Stop and take a look. Well done and well worth it…...

We went to Madeira Park hoping to spend the night. After checking out the area and finding everything closed, we decided not to spend the night in the area. On our way back to the main road, we stopped at the Iris Griffith Wetlands Park for a short walk. The walk lasted about 3 or 4 minutes. It is a pretty place to stretch your legs and walk around for a minute or two between Powell River and Madeira Park. I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here, but it is worth a stop on your way from Powell River to Langsdale to get out of the car to stretch.
