“Excellent family/group size holiday house & great base for exploring the region”
Reviewed 7 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This is a lovely holiday home, plenty of room for a family or group. Good sized kitchen, dining table, comfy living room & good big bedrooms. Absolutely beautiful view out over carlingford lough from the living room windows. The local area is great, plenty of places to explore in easy reach, Carlingford is lovely with loads of places to eat/drink only about 10 mins drive down the road. Very suitable for families with young children - its a quiet cul de sac, there's a baby gate for the stairs if needed & the neighbours kids were very friendly inviting my two out to play in no time! There are a few steps down to the front door, but parking is directly at the top of these - we managed fine with 3 & 6 year old. Great place to stay, would highly reccomend.

“Home from home”
Reviewed 1 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Perfect holiday home, the views are so magnificent we barely looked at the television, it is a great size and the kitchen is equipped with everything you could need. The journey from family we had came to visit was so quick and easy due to the garage at the bottom of the hill. The owner was lovely and very accommodating due to movements in our trip and looked after us well, thank you, we will definitely be returning and look forward to it.

“Great Rental”
Reviewed 2 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Cul Na Rath is as advertised. Spacious and roomy; well appointed with wonderful views towards the Mourne Mountains. Dermott is a welcoming and attentive host.

WI-FI is available via Dermott who will arrange on arrival. We were extremely impressed by this lovely home on our first visit to Ireland and we intend to return.

Omeath itself is quiet but it is only a few minutes drive to Carlingford where there is a great selection of pubs and restaurants. Carlingford is bustling, particularly at the weekend.

Omeath is ideally situated for trips both north to Belfast and south to Dublin. We took the train from Newry which has extensive and secure parking at the railway station.

“Who needs to travel abroad when such beauty here in Ireland.”
Reviewed 13 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We have just spent two weeks in this fabulous house and had a great time. The house was so spacious and beautifully furnished to the highest standard I couldn't complain about a thing.
We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather, the view overlooking Warrenpoint was breathtaking day and night. This house was in walking distance to shops and pubs and five minutes up the road by car to Carlingford. We are intending to return again next year and would strongly recommend this beautiful home.

“Spacey with amazing views”

This lovely huge home was brilliant for the seven of us with room to spare. The views, no matter the weather were amazing. We would recommend pjs in carlingford for food and service. Only five miles away. A car is essential but there is local pub and shops etc. A good tip is to get fuel in the south as a lot cheaper, and food shopping seemed better in the north. Tray to park in Ashbourne was a good day out for the kids and only an hour away. Would definitely stay at this location again, really enjoyed it.

“Never mind the weather!”
Reviewed 8 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Stayed for 4 nights at end of January with husband, daughter, son-in-law and 2 year old grandaughter. The house accomodated us easily with one bedroom to spare. The location was great. Close to Carlingford (which I love) and near enough to Newry to go shopping. Enjoyed thne open fire, which we are used to, and great views over Carlingford Lough and beyond looking north. Lots of boats of varying sizes to watch sailing in and out each day. I got the impression that the ajoining property houses a family who lives there permanently. Having said that, we never heard a single sound from them and we really could have been staying in a detached property. The furniture etc was comfortable and we felt relaxed because it had a 'lived in' feel and not brand new. As a family we stay 2 or 3 times a year in a local (Ireland) property and always book 4 or 5 star. Sometimes the furniture and fittings are of very good quality which is nice. However, you can never fully relax if you are worried that one of the children might damage something or mark a piece of furniture. We felt that the furnishings were very suitable for a holiday property and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. It was nice having the patio doors and balcony to enjoy the view no matter what the weather was like. We thought it would be lovely when the snow was lying and the view of the mountains etc would be even nicer. Especially with the open fire. Perhaps a wee stay over Christmas would be perfect and I,m sure that Dermot, the owner, would be only too happy to put a wee tree in there! Finally, a big plus for me was that Dermot made good contact with me leading up to my stay and afterwards. As I said, I have stayed in many self catering properties and it makes a massive difference when the owner makes personal contact and reassures you that they can be contacted at any time if you need them.
